I moved back to the Terre Haute area after living in Atlanta for six years. I was looking for an extremely professional and reasonably priced car mechanic shop. Many people told me to check out Finzel's. I now take all of my families cars to Steve. I have been using him for over a year and my cars (both 100,000 miles +) are running in excellent condition. Steve's prices are fair and the service and technicians are world-class. They never try to up-sell you into anything your car doesn't absolutely need. I 100% recommend Finzel's Mastertech. Thank you guys for the awesome service!

As usual, the experience was wonderful. The appointment was just for routine maintenance, but I also asked to check the alignment since the car seemed to be pulling to the left a little bit. I got a call from the tech later who said that the alignment was spot on, but he would check further into the pull. I got a call in a while saying the left front tire had a separation, like I had hit a curb hard, and the steel cord was showing through on the inner side of the tire. They even sent me a picture of it.

So glad they found it--This Friday I'm driving to Iowa to see family. A blown out tire would have really wrecked the weekend. Always been treated well at Finzel's. I trust their advice, and I've never been steered wrong or disappointed.

I stopped by Finzel's to get an estimate on some break work and they offer a free inspection so I thought that was great. The inspection took about 2 hours which I had waited in their lobby for. Since they offer an inspection for free, I feel like this persuades you into getting the work done with them because your car is already there. They told me what work needed to be done (replacing all rotors and break pads) and said they could keep my car overnight and call me in the morning when it is ready to be picked up. I was able to pick it up early the next morning. When I started the car, the engine was sort of hesitant to fire, but it did. I didn't really think anything of it because I also had an oil change done. A few hours later, I went to run some errands and the car wouldn't start at all. I never had any problems like this before so I gave them a call. He said he could send a tow truck out and get it in the shop, but I would of course have to pay for the towing services. After another two hours sitting there, they finally told me what was wrong and that I needed to replace my battery, and since it is in located in a difficult area, it would cost a little more. I went through with it because I needed it done ASAP, and my car was already there.
The break work was roughly $550 and new battery with labor was $300.
I thought that was pricey especially for the battery. The customer service wasn't very great either. They had a lot of customers in and out very quickly.

Finzel's did a great job with communicating with me and it was easy to set up an appointment with them. Although that was great, I did run into an issue. I took my car in to only get ONE specific thing done and they tried to get me to fix other things in my car was going to cost over $900. I received many phone calls throughout the day from them trying to fix other expensive things done to my car. I am a college students who does not know anything about cars, and I felt taken advantage of. Besides that they did fix my car and it is running great. If you decide to go here be very specific and demanding about what you want done to your car.
