This is THE best donut shop in Seattle. Better than Top Pot, than Legendary, than Krispy Kreme, than Voodoo (in Portland). No gimmicks, no super huge donuts, no weird toppings (except for the bacon maple donut) - just really good donuts! My favorite is the apple fritter, but they serve an excellent cruller as well.

This is by far the best donut shop in all of Seattle. The donuts are fresh and incredibly tasty (by golly, they are delish). The folks that run the shop are absolutely fantastic and friendly. If given the choice of Family Donut, Blue Star, Voodoo or Top Pot, I would choose Family Donut hands down.

Best donuts in Seattle, IMHO. The bacon maple bars are delicious as are the regular maple bars and pretty much everything else! Ok, I just talked myself into a donut gathering mission. Give Family Donut a try, not just for the heavenly donuts but to support this awesome family business. The early AM hours are a bonus and do go early for the best selection.🍩😍🍩

Good Donuts and very friendly, kind, helpful people, especially Molly-a beautiful soul. Plenty of delicious selection, even at 10:30a.m. I'd say if you want the best selection come earlier, but it was still pretty decent. I got the Bavarian Cream filled and the Raspberry filled. They also have Coffee and coffee drinks, Hot Chocolate, and a few cold beverages.
Small strip mall right on Northgate Way, free parking (small lot).

Hands down best donut place around, go in around 5:10am and you will be able to grab a fresh chocolate or vanilla twist, best donut fresh trust me so take the time to come and you won't stop coming back

Lovely people, always give our toddler a Donut hole or 2. We rejoiced when we found this nearby. I'm a positive type, so it grieves me to leave a less than 5 star rating for such a favorite place for us to stop in the morning. However there is new ownership, and donuts have changed a bit. The fritters are very flat. Donuts have a lovely crunch on the outside but perhaps a bit too much oil. Maple bars are perfection. The fritters still taste good, the old fashioned plain cake Donuts are really great, but not quite like the hay day of Family Donut. Perhaps they will practice their way to perfection once again!

Stopped in around 10:30. Wanted a bacon maple bar. There was very little leftof ANYTHING! Decided to get a ham & cheese croissant. Ham was rolled up and stuffed into one side of the huge croissant, there was so little cheese that it could not be seen or tasted when it was warmed. Might as well buy a plain croissant somewhere else. Original owner must have retired. Seems that this business is just a part-time thing for the new owners. They are friendly, but don't seem to care about serving the neighborhood. They make only so many items and close when they sell out. Never any day-olds to buy. They don't seem to care about keeping the reputation built over many years. Not worth going after 7am. Quality and quantity greatly decreased. Sad to see a good thing go. Too bad for the neighborhood. 😪

I came two days around 9 and it was closed !! Sold out. I wonder why don't you make more for other people!! Don't you want to make more money and have more customers!! After i tried it. I can taste the oil. It's very oili which tastes really bad. I don't know why the people like it. The worst donuts i have ever tried

Everyone loves this place! My first visit was ok. I loved the plain glazed. It was fluffy and fantastic. The glazed old fashioned had an almost minty flavor- not bad, but odd. I still loved the experience and the unassuming vibe. This is not a hipster donut shop, and I'll I'll be coming back! 👍🍩😃
