I planned a date to take my parents there and meet my daughter and grandson to see the farm. My father was a dairy farmer for many years and I thought this would be fun to see how things have advanced in 30 years from when he stopped farming. He had a great time. We did go in November and it was a cold and windy day but other than walking between buildings you were in a bus or inside. A great experience for all.

We love this place and became members on our first visit. It’s a great place for kids and it is very educational for them to learn all about animals. The staff are fantastic and really outgoing and friendly. Food is fantastic at the restaurant and I have full respect for the kitchen staff. You can see them working through the glass if you’re in a booth and they work so fast and furious. They absolutely do not stop and work so hard. Best wishes to these hard working people at Fair Oaks Farms. Absolutely wonderful staff!!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped us reschedule when we missed one of our tour buses. We had 2 children under 5 yrs old they enjoyed everything especially the areas where you wait to catch your bus. There are fun and educational activities that even the young ones enjoyed. Our only complaint is the cafe didn't have many choices on the kids menu especially if you have picky eaters. Otherwise we all had a wonderful day.

All the employees at hotel and farm was so nice and helpful! We will be back! The grilled cheese sandwiches, Homemade ice cream and the cheese shop were wonderful. They make the ice cream there and it is the creamiest ice cream I have ever had. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious and the waitresses were awesome. We love the hotel with a nice pool and hot tub so we could relax after busy day with the kids! My grandson did the ninja course indoors at the pork building and loved it.
I loved all the buildings had interactive things for the kids to do. And my favorite was the birthing building.

Wow, a place you must see. Great educational value. Fun for all. FFA. The pig adventure was the best. Dairy and crop adventure also good. We also enjoy eating lunch, they make great sandwiches. Or just enjoying a nice bowl of creamy ice cream. Give yourself at least three to four hours to see everything. Do not forget to stop by the calving barn.

I've been a visitor for many years. It truly never gets old. Today's experience was top notch and one to remember. The farm was not busy so we basically had private tours all day. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate and educate us. They like their jobs and it shows. The facility, staff and food are all excellent. I will continue to visit on a regular basis.

I'd been looking forward to eating at the farm for a long time. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nothing special. The service was lacking. The food was absolutely mediocre. Ridiculously overpriced overall. I had "chicken pot pie". There was nothing "pie" about it. It tasted like canned chicken soup and they plopped a puff pastry plopped on top. My friend had meatloaf. Again, absolutely nothing special about it. You would think for the price you would get a little salad at least but halfway through our meal we got a cornbread. Perhaps if I wanted to spend $45 on a steak I might have been impressed? There are tons of recipes for both items to make them unique and special. Apparently the decision-makers and the cooks have no creativity (obviously no chefs there). In my opinion even a cook should do better! I would never recommend this place to anybody unless they had a lot of money to throw away.

This is a great place to stop on your way down to Indiana, or back to Illinois. They have a sandwich shop and a full service restaurant. The sandwich shop (The Cowfet) has some really nice grilled cheese sandwiches and they have a great chocolate milk. It's clean, quiet, and pleasant. I had to grab a couple of items from the gift shop while I was there!

There's a reason this place is always busy. The cafe is fantastic! Such an awesome variety of cheeses, chocolates, and more. Great spot to stop for a quick soup and sandwich lunchI'm a sucker for a good grilled cheese, and these are great. Try the pesto mozzarella.

When you're done with that, grab a pint of ice cream to go. You'll thank me.

They have a wonderful learning experience for children and adults about cows and now pigs. If you're lucky you can see a calf or piglet being born.
They also have two restaurants, one is a sandwich shop the other a casual sit down eatery. They both have outstanding food. They have some of the best ice cream I have had in a long time.
There is also a cheese shop with my favorite cheddar curds and an assortment of other cheeses.
Overall this place is a must stop and see place for young and old alike.

Who would ha e thought this gem would be in the middle of an Indiana corn field? Come for the FIVE star restaurant and stay for the ice cream.

Let's be honest; my uncle did not like it. But he's the 'stay off my lawn' type. I loved every minute of it.

The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is amazing. The beer is cold and local.

Like the area, but unfortunately with a family of 8 it is far from affordable. We found out pricing and left. Otherwise parking lot was clean, building areas. Easily accessible from expressway.

Excellent fried chicken and corn bread. My wife had the BBQ plate which was delicious too. Stop here and try this. Also I got fudge from the Gas Station store they runbest fudge I've had since my grandmother's!

Visited 3/28/2017. Had a lovely meal in the dining hall then ventured over to the shop to pick up some soveniers. Had a full basket of items to purchase and waited as the customer in front checked out. Questioned about the advertised free cheese offered if a minimum was purchased. Was only then offered a sample as the staff clustered behind the deli area. Was then told after waiting a bit we couldn't be checked out that the server was down. Stated it shut down helping the customer in front of us but they had already gotten the total and that person had ran out to a cash machine then. Heard it mentioned it happens frequently so went to sit and have a scoop of ice cream as we waited as we had already questioned if our items could be rang up at the diner and were denied. Well the ice cream register was down as well and he wouldn't accept cash so we sat patiently waiting for almost 30 minutes. Not once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience or seem warm/caring but instead proceeded to clean around us as if closing up and we were in the way. Finally an employee approached stating we just wouldn't be able to get anything unless we could pay cash. As we were seeing how much we had cash for, the system came back up and we were able to get our items. My niece took our basket to check out as I paid cash and got us some ice cream. Still no apologies or even a discount or scoop of ice cream was given. Then looking at our bag (after spending $180) noticed not even to free cheese was provided. Approached the counter and after being asked to see the receipt was then given the earned sample. Still, with the attitude that we were inconveniencing them. Would rate the dining hall a 5 but the store 1 but can't break the two up.

A great pull off stop right off the highway I-65 interstate. We stop there every time we pass. They have a working farm and have fantastic products as a result of it. Fantastic cheese and ice cream. They have an extensive lunch menu including high end grilled cheese made to your specifications. They carry an 8 year old sharp cheddar cheese that is to die for. Very cool gift shop great place for kids they offer tours of the farm related areas. They also have their own gas station so it makes for an easy refuel stop as well

Overpriced facility for watching cows or pigs behind a glass in a bus for 20-30 min for a cool $29.95. The so called 'Deluxe Assortment' fine chocolates is being sold at the premium $19.21 for 8 oz. advertising itself as 'Farm to Box' product. In reality it is high-sugar content concoction with a stale taste and a number of artificial ingredients. The sugar content is so high that one can feel sugar crystals cracking on one's teeth. The box is apparently of the generic variety (see the photo) where various sizes and shapes chocolates are forced in uniform bedding that does not fit, some of the chocolates were broken or chirped on inspection. One can buy a similar or better Russel Stover chocolates for a quarter of that price. The cheese selection at the farm store was equally unimpressive - all types of cheese vacuum-sealed in a thick plastic giving it the distinct appearance of a cheap supermarket variety cheese but again - at prices that are 2-3 times higher that supermarket's. A simple plain cheese-sandwich will set you back $6.37. Ice cream though, we tried butter-pecan, was excellent and reasonably priced at $2.98 for a large, satisfying scoop. If you have plenty of disposable cash to spend you may visit this establishment, if you are searching a good deal for the money - look elsewhere.
