Old unit 28 yrs old, did a lot of researching and had several free consultations. Of all footwork to making our investment, we were the most impressed with Fahnestock, a Carrier unit.
The sales rep Colt Oberle came out immediately on a Thursday and began assessing our needs. Without any dog & pony show, trying to sell top units, and speaking a/c language that we could not understand, he offered us a Carrier unit, approximately $1,200 cheaper than others, who just did not make that same impression as Colt.
The following Monday, Fahnestock had us up and running with a new heater / air condition unit installed by the most professional, organized and curtious installers.
It was a shop around investment that we walked away from feeling confident with our Fahnestock choice and will always recommend them.

My AC went out on a Friday and called to schedule first available appointment which was on Monday at 8:00 AM. My service tech Wayne diagnosed the issue within 10 minutes of being here. He was very good and helpful. He even found a hole in my duct work that needs repair. Last year I had another company come out and the tech, to be fair, was new and was not helpful at all. I will definitely be calling back for any future needs.

I can't describe just one experience as there have been so many. We've used Fahnestock for decades and will continue to do so until I no longer need or care about sump pumps, faulty furnaces or air-conditioning that is keeping my back yard pleasantly cool. Just now I'm waiting until 8 for someone to ring back and sell me, on sale, an air conditioner and a furnaceJust in the past two or three months I've acquired two new sump pumps, had the furnace given a temporary lease on life..They're great, all of them. The voice of the lady who answers the phone alternately makes you forget why you called or encourages you to buy one of everything.

Colt is an awesome asset to Fahnestock! We had an issue with our A/C and the technician told us that the unit needed to be replaced. Colt received the request for a new part and took the initiative to look and see if the product was under warranty. Fortunately, it was under warranty, but his aggressiveness to help the customer was amazing.

I would recommend Fahnestock and Colt to anyone. They did us right!

I'm an easy-going guy and not hard to get along with. I give most everyone the benefit of the doubt, but expect to be treated fairly and with respect and common courtesy. I called for service on a Wednesday because I couldn't get my regular A/C tech to clean my unit. I specifically asked for a cleaning of my unit as well as to check to see why it was short-cycling. The cleaning was more important to me. The Fahnestock representative told me they would come out the following Monday Afternoon. I received a call from their office slightly after 4 P.M. on Monday and they advised me that they could not do a 'spring service' and clean my unit, that they would have to schedule another service call for that but they still wanted to come out and check to see why I was getting a 'no cool' whatever that means. Whoever I spoke with was rude to me and cut me off. I tried to tell her I specifically needed a cleaning and she told me that she wasn't going to argue with me and then rudely asked me 'do you want us to come out or not?' I am getting cold air, it just shuts on and off repeatedly. I am sure it's because the unit needs cleaned. I don't understand why they didn't listen to begin with and why the office help had to be so rude. I was only trying to give them my business and they treated me poorly. I can't do business with them for this reason, so I cancelled the service call. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Good service company, but with a LIAR as a salesman and an office who won't back the customer up. The service techs are great and have been nothing but helpful, but one of their salesmen, Tom, is a liar. I needed my coils replaced on my A/C unit and was told it was going to cost me $1k. Fine. The first thing I explained to Tom was that I was not in a position to pay that in full and could I make payments. He told me no problem and was trying to get me to agree to the service right away. I thought that was fair and agreed to the service. They came out the next day and did the job. I started paying them right away. However, I started getting calls and letters from them saying that I needed to pay in full right away. When I called them to tell them that Tom had told me I could make payments, they put me in touch with him and he acted like I was absolutely crazy. Now I didn't make up that I asked about making payments and I certainly would not have signed up for service that I couldn't afford outright. I told Tom that I was not able to pay in full, but that I would continue to pay them each month until I had paid it in full. He said fine, only to turn around and turn me in to a credit agency. I happen to know that this company is in financial trouble and was willing to lie to me to get me to sign up for service only to turn around and demand the money in full. I will NEVER use this company again and will tell as many people as I can not to. That is however long they are still around.

Today is Friday Jan 23, 2015. I called Fahnestock because I had never seen steam coming up from the heat pump located outside. This is the second time I have used there service and I cannot say enough good things about the service, explanation of the problem, what would be needed for repair (if anything), and how to maintain maximum efficiency from our heating and cooling unit. I knew exactly what I would paying when the job was completed, etc. I highly recommend Fahnestock for prompt, courteous, fair and honest service. Richard P.
