We went for the 2hr tubing, my son and I. We got there pretty early and went down numerous times! By 1130am it started getting crowded. Great place to let out some energy with the kiddos!

Tried the snow tubing as a brief stop. Kids loved it. Great rates and surely fun filled. Might want to go late noon and before the 4 pm crowd.

Tubing was fun, but overpriced. Eat before you go, food is overpriced and they literally screwed up half the orders while we waited 35 minutes for a sandwich and hamburger. If you eat there don't believe "your order is next I promise" lol

A short ride from ATL will get you into the mountains. I have been going to Scaly Mountain since the 1980s and although now a tubing hill, it continues to be a great family value close to home. All of teh satff were polite and helpful. The equipment in good shape. Make a day of it with a stop for lunch or dinner at the Dillard house.

This is so much better than the Stone mtn snow tubing. The staff is really nice and makes sure you have a great time. All the tubes are like new.

We chose to just snow tube, wife, myself and 4 kids. My 2 youngest girls were slightly intimidated at first but at age 5 and age 8 went for it. For 2 hours, my kids had probably the most fun ever. Nothing was difficult. My 5 year old dragged her tube herself to the conveyor belt the first 75 minutes, then i helped her. Non stop, 4 kids, myself (occasionally my wife) went down the tube slope. The staff was very friendly everywhere we were. Like recommended, we filled out waiver before hand, turned it in to staff at desk, got dressed and returned for our tickets. It was simple. Grabbed a tube and had 2 hours of safe, exhilarating, family fun. No learning, frustrating classes, no expensive gear just go and get hours of fun. We then ate at the cafe upstairs. We enjoyed our meal and watched snow fall. Kids can't wait to go back. Very glad we chose Scaly Mountain for some family winter memories. Ice skating rink is very small, one look and I could tell it just wasn't going to really entertain my kids for long. Tubing was a total blast.

Went to ice skate. The ice was I. Horrible condition! You can't tell from the online camera. They still sell tickets to people even though the ice is lumpy, jagged and not fit to skate. People were falling down all over the ice because they were trying but not able to. We drove 1.5 hours from Murphy NC, just to get there and see its bad condition. Sure wish they would have closed the ice when it is so bad so people wouldn't get their hopes up, and waste their time and money (for those who paid)! Did. It try the snow tubing, it looked fun, I've done it before, and wasn't looking to spend $25 a person for 2 hours for 6 people, when all we wanted to do was ice skate.
