Pulled pork BBQ is good. Brisket is good. Nothing to write home about. Only 1 option for BBQ sauce. Most of the sides leave something to be desired. Cole slaw is average, mac & cheese is bland---tastes like velveeta. YMMV :)

They have a strong following in Hyde Park and Downtownbe prepared to wait in line and be underwhelmed when you're finished.

Eli's made my visit to Cincinnati even better with their delicious food. It's so good there was an hour+ wait on Saturday night (a sure sign of top notch good quality). I didn't have time to wait Saturday night, but came back on Sunday and confirmed the BBQ is phenomenal and well worth an hour+ wait.

You cannot pick up a rib without meat falling off, you cannot eat the grits without falling in love, even the slaw is balanced between refreshing and sour.
These ribs are what make men weak and women swoon. It's like a pig dipped in sugary goodness transported by angels right to your mouth.

Simple menu. Great food. Reasonably priced.

My experiences are all simple but great. We usually go to eat inside so we can sit looking out the window and listen to the classic rock being played on the turntable through a Marshal Amp! Such memories just in the sounds. Eating BBQ and drinking from glass bottles. Perfect.

BYOB. Don't bring your vegetarian/vegan friends. This place focuses on good KC style BBQ meat, and they do it as good as anyone else. Sitting on the picnic tables and sharing a case of beer with your good friends while munching on perfectly smoked pulled pork and ribs (I hear the turkey is really good, haven't tried the brisket).

The barbecue is great! The sides are just ok, (which Is why the 4 starts) but everything else is pretty cool! The eat in area is very nice with hand drawn art work in the wall that will have you and your company walking down memory lane trying to remember who those famous faces are. It’s also quiet. Large outdoors eating picnic style place. With a cover so no worries for sun or rain.
Parking in the rear and on the street. It can get crowded down there because people really like Eli’s and I think you will too!

The ribs are very good but the quality has slipped a bit as this place has tried to keep up with the volume. parking is tough but worth it. during the summer the whole area gets filled up because they have lots of outdoor picnic tables to take your food to. The nice part about this is that you can augment the food you eat with chips drinks or birthday cake.

Had the ribs for lunch. Simply amazing. Meet was tender with a slight crisp to the skin. Wonderfully seasoned that paired perfectly with their barbecue sauce, which is unique- a little tangy and sweet without being too much of either. Worth a stop in. Also, very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Wish y'all were in Lexington so I could make this my new lunch spot!

Awesome ribs! Cornbread and beans were really good. Slaw was alright. Liked the outdoor seating area. Had some Curtis Mayfield playing on the speakers. 👍 Was a little pricey, that's my only gripe.

Absolutely phenomenal food, great atmosphere, fun setting, and BYOB! What's not to love?

They've constructed a permanent shelter since I was there last (which is awesome), and have a grassy area for playing with dogs, kids, or picnicking in the sun as well.

Perfect for young and old, it's a great place for groups, though it's fun to go with just a dog or significant other too!

I've gone when it's sunny and beautiful and also when it was cold and rainy, and I have yet to have a bad time. If you haven't gone you're missing out.

This is an awesome BBQ place. They have a limited selection, but it is all amazing including their sides! In the warmer months, you can sit outside in their pavilion area which is great if you have kids. It is reasonably priced and the portions are huge.

One of the best BBQ joints in the Cincinnati area. The food is consistently good, no matter what you get. My only complaint is the lack of brisket from the menu. It is a smoking staple and seems weird that it's not made.

Also, for those who have been before but haven't visited in awhile, the new updated outside seating is great. There's even proper bathrooms now instead of Porta-Potties!

HOLY TOMATO!!!! I was at Eli's last fall as I was in Cincinnati on business.

How good was it? So good that I ate here THREE DAYS in a row! The pulled pork sandwiches are the BEST I've ever had and I feel I'm quite particular.

The meat was very very lean, the flavor was out of this world and the sauce was superb.

I just drove by here yesterday and I see they build a gorgeous covered outdoor pavilion to sit under. It's equipped with outdoor bathrooms and the spring, summer and fall breezes are going to flow right through this wonderful shelter.

You'll be able to eat lunch under this structure in the shade. That's a big plus on hot Cincinnati days.

If you like BBQ, then you MUST STOP HERE. The other place that has the initials M I and has a big reputation has gone way downhill in my opinion since the founder passed away. Eli's is the #1 BBQ place now in Cincinnati.
