A very memorable meal. We got the paella, which required calling ahead, but it was definitely worth it. The dish was both delicious and enormous--my wife and I ate it for two meals, and we still couldn't finish the whole thing. The plantains were a perfect sweet accompaniment to the savory dish. We will definitely be back if we get the chance to go to Key West again.
Huge portions, good food and service as well. We had two times dinner here. Prices are reasonable ($12-16 for main). A lot of locals and not too many tourists.
That prices are fair being as your in the keys. The food is authentic Hispanic food and portions are generousbas they should be with Hispanic food. If you Latin or want Latin food in the keys, this is the place to go. Arrive was also good here and quick. There is a wait for done in but if you call advance you can pick up take out. why wouldn't you do take out when you can eat at the beach.
Absolutely fantastic Cuban food. The menu is extensive. This is a place where the locals eat. Very busy, and delicious! Order the sangria, you wont be disappointed. The plantains are off the charts good. Skirt steak, grouper, and grilled shrimp were all fantastic. Service is excellent.
Nice experience and excellent food. The yellow rice and roasted pork was delicious. The portions were more than enough. Everything was super yummy. Everyone in my party was pleased with what they ordered. Don't miss this place if you're in Key West.
On vacation in the Florida keys. The food is pretty good here and the prices aren't bad. One common thing I came across all of the Florida keys Cuban restaurants is that Cubans aren't very good at customer service. They will hand you your plate(instead of placing it at the table) and once you have your food is very hard to get one of them to come back to your table. This was the case in this restaurant and many other Cuban restaurants in the Florida Keys. It must be a cultural thing. Gave it 4 stars because of the service.
Please, train your waitresses to give that type service that leaves customers saying they would love to come back. The waitresses should always come back to a table after they serve food and just make sure that everything is OK. Checking up on refills more than once. And most of all being polite and having a smile. Especially when the restaurant is not particularly busy. No customer should ever leave there feeling ignored. Or put behind. I went there and I had this waitress that I felt like didn't give me good service. However I'm happy to say that there was this other (younger) waitress there. And she did pick up where the other waitress was slacking. Checked up on me and had a smile while doing it. And I remember thinking I wish I had that waitress.
As for the food. Honestly the food sometimes has temperature problems. Please just make sure that if the food is made in bulk at an earlier time. That it is the least kept at a piping hot temperature. And just that alone make such a great improvement. A simple employee meeting would improve this place so much.
Just finishing up our dinner and I can't move. Food was great! The portions are above average and reasonably priced. Service was good and the restaurant has a high turnover rate. We got our food just a few minutes after ordering. Definitely worth stopping in!
Hands up to this awesome place! Prices are unbeaten and food is really good!! My husband ordered grilled fish - it was really fresh and delicious! My grilled shrimps were great too! Main course goes with 2 side dishes, your choice. Also their homemade sangria is outstanding. So, if you are looking for a good quality food without fancy interior, this place is definitely for you.
Very delicious food, good service, magical dessert ( we took key lime pie, mango cheese cake and flan). The fish was grilled to perfection, amazing fried plantains. Highly recommend. My fish visit to Cuban restaurant and I liked it!
This out of the way Cuban/Latin restaurant is definitely a must. Great food at an affordable price. They aren't cheap on their food though, they serve good size portions with quick service. Families and large groups are welcome here. The Cuban coffee was amazing. Much larger than typical and with lots of thick froth on top.
Food tasted good but was warm at best. I ordered and the food came out quickly, like 5 minutes after I ordered it. Fried pork chunks with yellow rice and black beans.
Rice was warm and I could tell it had been sitting for a while. Pork chunks were warm at best. Tasted good but not freshly prepared. Black beans were mildly hot.
Stayed for a few minutes and watched a Cuban national get steaming hot food.
Cuban or Hispanic, si. Gringo, no.
Everyone in our party loved their meal. We only waited about 10 minutes for a seat. The staff was very nice. I have already recommended it to my friends coming down next month. Oh by the way very clean!
It's a bad experience. Fired fish is delicious, but the Paella is terrible. When we made the reservation, we wanted to get two orders for six people. The women said two orders were not enough for six people, we needed to get five orders. We also ordered other entrees when we ate. When the paella was served, we were disappointed. Two and half lobsters were on the top. We only can find the shrimps as the only seafood in the Paella. They put many chicken tenders as seafood. I will not come again and recommend it to my friends.
