Had friends coming in from out of town with little to no snow sport experience and picked Echo mountain because of the affordability. When we got there the staff went above and beyond and truly made the experience exceptional. From the encouragement given on the bunny slopes to what was essentially full blown lessons down the mountain - thank you!

Love this place for the season pass. It allows us to snowboard in 1 hour since it is so close. We tried night boarding too and it was so fun. We may only have 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday so this place is perfect to get tons of runs in a few hours.

People are great here what a great play with in a great state state inside of the greatest country we live in. as a black man that travels all over the world to great places home never fails me and my family and this is coming from a new Yorker. Echo Mountain is an amazing little ski resort where you will definitely get your money’s worth. There was never any lift lines and there is an entire terrain park in the trees. Echo Mountain has terrain for beginner to advanced riders just looking to have a good time.

Very small, no crowds! No wait line at the lift. Perfect for learning: skiing or snowboarding. Great for working on technique. Lift ticket is very reasonable, and the food was awesome!

Echo Park is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I have never skied before and I rated myself beginner on my sheet which seemed to make no difference because no one looked at the sign in sheet. The snow was packed so tight it was ice and very hard, it was a warmer day. I tried snowboarding but couldn't get up, I went a few feet down the slope and decided I couldn't make it down. I walked back up the hill in the stiff boots that made my shins hurt, so I traded in for skis and still couldn't keep my balance because the slope was too steep and icy and scary. The skis weren't any better, I managed to make it down maybe a fifth of the hill when I was going too fast and fell and landed with my arm behind me trying to catch myself. I felt like I almost dislocated my arm as I clung to side of the icy hill trying not to slide further over the bottomless mountain. Who knows really how much longer I had to slide down until I could get on the lift. I looked for anyone to help me or the ski patrol to call a ride for me but there was no one there. I nice gentleman and his son helped me up and helped me get my skis for yet another painful trek up to the rental house. On my way up I saw other potential beginners sitting on the sides of the slope clinging to the side of the ice. Echo Mountain is a wasteland of poor unexperienced people pushing themselves to the point of injury because there are NO REFUNDS. I myself felt like I needed to get at least to the bottom of the hill to use my lift ticket at least ONCE. But I knew I would hurt myself worse if I didn’t quit while I was behind. When I got to the top of the hill I heard ski patrol talk about some one who wrecked and broke their ankle. I was thinking to myself, hoping it wasn’t my best friend’s husband at the time. He showed up about 30min later after walking up the hill half way back to the lodge. My bestie ended up only riding the lift twice with her ticket and the rest of us never touched the thing. I went back to the front desk to try to at least get my lift ticket refunded because I never rode it. I told them I had the most terrible time skiing and that I would never do it again and they had nothing to say to me. Do not go to this place unless you are an advanced skier unless you want to waste your money, don’t let the prices fool you. You get what you pay for and this is a poorly managed resort with only two slopes: Steep and ice or steeper and ice.

Echo Mountain's appeal is that they are the closest resort to Denver and you can ski for a much lower price ($49/day for an adult). If you need to rent though, it's going to set you back another $35 (and that doesn't include goggles or a face mask). If you come after a snowstorm, you will likely need 4WD to get out of their parking lot as you have to go up a big hill. The biggest downside to this place is that it's only 600 ft vertical drop as opposed to the big resorts are closer to 3,000 ft. So from the top to the bottom here, it only takes me about 1 minute. There is only one lift and basically three runs (two intermediate, one beginner). I came on a Wednesday and was one of about eight skiers at the whole place, which was cool but also weird in a way. The girl at the counter to buy tickets from was on the phone for several minutes without acknowledging me - I was bummed to see that after hearing about the great customer service. The guy doing the ski rentals was great! The food room was pretty good with decent prices. If you want to ski ASAP, come here and it's good value. Personally, it's not for me as I prefer many more trail options and longer vertical drop to ski longer.

Underrated as a half-day activity,
overrated as a full-day destination.
Food and lodge atmosphere was great.
Bonus points for no lines at the chair,
lose points for Christian music on the mountain.
Very excited to see what changes they make over the summer!

I love Echo Mountain. It's so close and such an easy drive. Don't have to mess with the frustrations of I-70. I can get in about a dozen runs and get home without being gone all day. The staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable and there is a nice bar and grille to get a drink and bite to eat. Great for the family.
