Great restaurant. Only knock was I bought a gift card online and had it emailed. They charge a $1 "email delivery fee." You must be joking.

Loved the food and whiskey. Needs a larger selection of scotches. Price was fair considering the clientele. Had the bone marrow and escargo. Very enjoyable. The bartender was friendly and we had a nice small conversation. They even gave me a postcard which they mailed for me. Amazing.

I have a great deal of pity for people who would rank this 4 or 5, as an international visitor I would say the ambiance of the venue is 4 out of 5 perhaps but the food quality was nothing short of sub par. I had onion soup, I've lived in France and frankly you should call it cheese/fromage soup it was disgusting and my partner who is from eastern Europe where they love steak tartare was also leaving half their starter.

It is a shame the food does not match the bar quality and general feel of the place, it promised much but underachieved.

Won't be going back and advise others to consider the book not the cover or reviews

You may want to avoid ordering fries with the Steak Tartare, while each by themselves are delicious to say the least. Worth the short wait to get a table. The staff is very courteous and have good recommendations for dessert. I enjoyed my meal, thoroughly.

Eastern Standard has a great atmosphere (dark and classy) great food (fresh seafood, steaks, pork chops) and great cocktails!

The service sometimes feels slow, but it's also not the kind of place your want to go for a quick meal, so that doesn't bother me.

One of the best places to grab a cocktail in all if Boston! The bartenders here are extremely knowledgeable and will ensure that you have a fantastic drink. It can get busy during peak hours so go at random times if you can.

Very nice place to dime. The staff are warm and the food is excellent. I had a chopped salad and the chicken was prepared perfectly and well seasoned. Their dressings are all good and the bread before service is always a nice touch. Thanks!

I've been to Eastern Standard many times, and I am always impressed by their food and service. Their food is always great, and I've never been disappointed by anything I've had on their menu. Their servers are always very professional and are a level above those you see at typical restaurants.

This is a classy place. I love the upscale vibe, trend-setting, handcrafted mixed drinks, and world-class service. The waitstaff here are undoubtedly the best I've seen in Boston. The rawbar is top of its class as well. I will have to come back for dinner sometime.

This review is only for dessert - the bread pudding. It does taste really good, but such a small piece for 10 bucks!! The price-satisfaction ratio is off.

Good food and good beer selection, but this place is the tops for its terrific cocktail selection. Definitely go off menu by telling the bartender your preferences and letting them mix you something special. I've never been disappointed.

Visited ES last Sunday with my 88 year-old Aunt for brunch. I have to share her comment from her thank-you note:
"A million thanks for giving me such a delightful and delicious day. It was great to have a visit with you. I loved Eastern Standard. A wonderful group of young people. All the servers were darling and I felt uplifted by their smiles!"
A review of ES somewhere says that you can bring your rickety, elderly aunt and your funky, punked-out daughter and they will both have a great time. How true!

Eastern standard is a restaurant adjacent to the Commonwealth hotel in Boston. It offers breakfast Lunch and Dinner with a substantial range of dishes ranging from breakfast offering fruits, eggs, pastry, French toast through lunch offering New England seafood, burgers, salads and dinner offering a wide array of meat dishes salads and sandwiches. Eastern Standard also has an impressive bar with a big variety of alcohol offerings. The atmosphere is very energetic, very friendly and the service is very good. Highly recommended.
