Poor drinks for the price. Menu is so small print u can hardly read it. Food good but does not equal to service, etc. Will not go back. Too many othet restaurants within the walking area that are 100% better in price and food.

The older, hostess with long blond hair certainly does not want your business. When I personally asked her face to face for a 6:30 pm reservation outside on the balcony, Lynn said they were all reserved. This was at 5:15 pm. At 7:00 pm, only one table was being used and the rest of the tables were empty. My friends had just come in from a kayak tour & were treated so rudely, we left. And by the way, the one couple who did get to eat outside on the prized balcony said their food wasn't very good. We won't be back!

I don't know where to begin. We had a reservation for 8pm was sat by 8:05. By 9:05 we still had not had our food. The three tables sat after us with a different server was happy and eating while we waited and waited. Our server Scott was horrible. I questioned if we were treated as such because we were black or because we were female. I still question it. We were eventually given bread which was burned and super small pieces. Other guest were given nice pieces if bread, but not us. Finally our food came. The Ribeye was not worth 40.00. It was horrible. The lobster bisque fell short of my wife's expectations as well. Finally the manager Lynn walked to every table around us to greet them. She never approached our table and refused to give eye contact. This place is horrible and not worth the 150.00 charged. I will be posting this other places and writing the different venues that have recommended this place.

Ahi Tuna Tartar, Kumato Caprese Salad, and Blackened Yellowfin Tuna were excellent. Service was attentive and view of the marina very nice.

If you need a place where you want to wear long pants and be amongst the non-slob beach vacation crowd, this is your place. Dont worry about a snappy outfit with shorts.. Food is fantastic. Musician was also very nice and set a good mood.

We made a reservation for 6:30 at Ela's Blu Water Grille which I had wanted to try vacationing in Hilton Head for years. It was just my husband and I a party of 2. We arrived for our 6:30 confirmed reservation at 6:10. We saw the restaurant was empty and one couple was dining on the veranda. We had requested outside seating. We checked in and the hostess, an elderly lady with long blonde hair, checked us in and with our request to sit outside seemed not happy with us because we had just made our reservation online. She told us we would only have an hour and a half to eat. We agreed but thought this was an odd direction to be given Mind you we were 20 minutes early for our reservation. This older hostess really seemed to not want to seat us outside, a younger hostess standing at her side encouraged her to seat us outside.we proceeded to be placed/seated just outside the public/service doorway and my husband was facing the parking lot not the water view we requested or the view the restaurant promotes in their marketing/advertising. I went right back in and asked could we please be moved to a table with a better view ( again no one was on the veranda except for one couple dining) and the elderly hostess with a snooty attitude told me " we have other reservations for 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 that we need to seat". So with her poor conduct, attitude, lack of customer service and total discount to our standing 6:30 reservation/ request for a water view (and not a parking lot view,) we left. No one needs to deal with this sort of treatment for a dinner reservation. This was a surreal experience all due to this hostess lack of customer service and professionalism. The restaurant was empty, we truly felt not welcomed at this restaurant. We left and enjoyed being welcomed /seated and enjoyed an excellent dinner/experience at another local Shelter Cove Restaurant that had a full/ lively restaurant ( we were seated in a perfect spot immediately again it was just 6:20 at this point) where there was positive energy, gracious service and excellent food..Go to Bucci's!!

We first questioned dining at ELA's because of the lower reviews, but every person at the table was very pleased with our time on the patio during a rainy night. The food was delicious- from the bread basket, appetizers, soups and salads, entrees, to the desserts. Our waitress was lovely and made the birthday celebration special. The other staff was not the best- first having our table ready over 20 minutes after our reservation and later another asking if we were done with the check, as we were the last on the patio. All in all, the positives far outweigh the negatives.

The service was terrible. It really was a lack of service. The food was ok but for the price it should have been awesome.Nothing special except the view and the company.

Our waitress was absolutely stellar. Per normal, I asked for my beef filet "as rare as the chef is comfortable making it". This was obviously well communicated to the chef (this is usually watered down to "just rare", in my experience). On New Year's Eve, I can say that this was easily the best steak that I have had all year!! My pregnant wife also really enjoyed her mock-tail!

Food was great and service was good but people not as friendly as other places. Location right on the harbor is nice. Dinner and drinks including dessert was expensive. While really good not sure worth the price. The live music was nice. Overall a good experience.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The hostess, blond older lady, was not very welcoming or accommodating. She abruptly seated us and quickly disappeared. Not a warm welcome, especially considering that she knew we were there for our anniversary. I went back up front to ask her if we could move outside to a harbor view table. A big part of why I chose the restaurant was because of the harbor views. She told me that she didn't have room for us to move outside. The patio was empty, she pointed at a very small bistro table shoved in a corner next to a 11 top they were setting up and said, you can sit there but it'll be really loud. I decided to stay in our very tight booth with a partial water view. The patio stayed empty the entire time we were there, maybe 3 tables out there when we left. The 11 top never showed, she offered to move another table outside but not us.
On the bright side; our waitress was very professional and took very good care of us. I found it a little odd that nobody mentioned our anniversary. The food was very good but not to the caliber of the price and place, should had been better.
We enjoyed Ella's but we will not be back. There are far better places on the island to have a more well rounded experience.
