Great waterfalls with not too hard of hikes. There is some steep grade and a lot of steps on some of the trails. But also plenty of places to rest. Dogs welcome. Wish I had my fly rod too because people were catching trout right in front of us.
Dupont state forest has great facilities to hike. It is the home of hooker falls triple Falls and high falls. They are all amazing and unique. At the top of high falls is a covered bridge. Great spots for photos. Rest facilities are through out.
Beautiful park! Easy walk to falls. Would feel perfectly safe taking my 4 & 7 year olds. You can walk up either by a trail in the woods beside the falls or on the rocks that are part of the falls. We walked up by rocks and back by path so we got the both views. Will definitely go again and again!!
Beautiful forest with many great trails and waterfalls. I have been to the State Forest many times. There are many interesting trails and several very beautiful waterfalls. All the falls are very easily accessible. Some of the falls can get quite busy on the week-ends. The forest has many different species of wildflowers during the summer season.
Highly recommend, great place to hike around for the day, a good mix of easy and moderate hiking. Loved seeing all the waterfalls. Recommend going to bridal veil falls, a bit quieter. Saw bikers, walkers, joggers, dogs, definitely well traveled. Visitors center has great info and clean bathrooms. Quite a few options for parking.
Stunning waterfalls. We visited hooker falls and triple falls. Wish we could do more but with only spending 2 days in the area and coming in at 4pm our 1st day, our time was limited in hikes.
In a year I went in 2 different seasons, it is amazing to see the waterfalls and enjoy hike, watching the fungi, plants and breathing tranquility. You can take excellent photos and enjoy it alone or with friends and family.
Going there with my mom was a great way to spend Christmas day. It was raining so there wasn't many people at all which was awesome. There was flash floods warmings that day too, so the waterfalls were way bigger. The waterfalls were easy to hike to which was a nice change. You don't have to hike ten miles to see them.
You can't beat three waterfalls in one trip! The park is well kept with a great visitor's center and everything was so so beautiful. Very busy for Labor Day though - try to come at an off time to avoid so many tourists.
Love this place! So much fun for the whole family. There are many trails and waterfalls to explore. Don't forget that the water stays around a chilly 58° so bring plenty of towels. River shoes are recommended because the only rock you want to slip on is sliding rock on your bottom. If you plan to slide use an old bathing suit because you will get bottoms very dirty. Please don't bring glass! What you bring with you remember to pack out and take it with you. The lifeguards leave around 5 or 6 so its at your own risk after that. Be safe and enjoy these natural wonders.
This place is absolutely beautiful! Dupont has great trails to hike and it even has a swimming hole if you feel like taking a dip. If you have a four legged friend be sure to bring them because dogs are allowed here as well.
Another wonderful place to hike and take in nature's awesome creations. An 8-mile hike will hit 4 gorgeous waterfalls, or 10 miles for 5 falls. Or just 4.5 for 3 falls, the most popular trek. After the spring rains, all of the falls are currently in peak form. Get out there!!!
Had a wonderful weekend for Mother's Day again. This was my second trip to see the waterfalls at DuPont State Forest. Even though there was over cast and even a down pour towards the end of the your, the Falls were breath taking. We really enjoyed the your. Thank you to our guides and all of the volunteers, they were all so nice and knowledgeable. Will be back
Fantastic recreation area. Trails are very well maintained. You can do short hikes or all day hikes. My wife and I saw 5 of the 6 falls in a 5 hour hike. The staff at the visitors center was very friendly. Plenty of great photo spots. Also wonderful trout fishing on the Little River (delayed harvest ).
Absolutely lovely place to visit, can't wait to go back!
This State Park has 86 miles of trails and so many beautiful waterfalls to look at. They have hiking trails that range from easy to difficult. Great place to take your family out for a lovely nature walk.
Triple falls was definitely my favorite, absolutely beautiful and you can walk right up to the falls! Also, fun fact, they filmed park of the hunger games on the falls. Hooker falls is a fun place to go for a dip in the water, but be warned, the water might be a little cold. Bridal Veil and High falls are two more of the lovely waterfalls you can visit while at the park.
Overall, fantastic place for the family to visit and go explore. The perfect place for an adventurer. If you're looking for a state park to visit, this is the place.
