This is a really solid little place. The food is actually pretty simple, but it's put together in a way that is quite impressive. Definitely recommend the place.
I recently ate here and I did thoroughly enjoy my meal even though they forgot my smoothie and I had to ask them for it once I was finished my meal. I do have one question for them and all of you who are reading this. What is your definition of a club sandwich? For me it has three pieces of toast, two layers of filling, and bacon. This is what I expect when I order a club sandwich. For some reason Down To Earth is calling their turkey sandwich with bacon a club sandwich. To be fair, the sandwich was good, it just wasn’t a club in my opinion. Let me know what you think.
Great atmosphere with food to match, locally sourced. Coffee is excellent locally roasted. Don't miss this place!
Down to Earth Cafe is where I frequently meet with friends for a meal. It is WONDERFUL in every way except for one major problem: the extremely loud blender whenever someone orders a blender drink. If a DTE staff member reads this, please consider getting either a quieter blender (VitaMix has a quieter model) or it would be great if you could find a location further away from the tables to run the blender. It is impossible to carry on a conversation during the blending period, and conversation is the main reason many meet there for a meal. One has to either shout through the noise, or just wait until it stops. Today, when I was there trying to talk with a friend, we were forced to suffer through at least 6 roaring blender sessions.
Food amazing. Coffee amazing. Employees very friendly. SUPER SLOW ! Lol. I've been here 3x and it takes like 15+ min for bagel. But the food is so good. If your in a hurry probably not the place to go. But def a place I'll keep coming back to.
We had an extremely long wait for our sandwiches, almost 40 minutes. We also ordered drinks and a baked good, which we didn't get at all during that 40 minute wait either. We finally got our food, which was very good. They offered a full refund because of the wait, but because the food was good we told them we only wanted a half refund. The bill was $30, and then they only refunded $10.not half.
Friendly/homey atmosphere, great food, supports other local businesses. Great for a quick stop or a sit down meal
Loved this cafe so much! It has a wonderful and homey atmosphere with local art for sale and all locally grown food. It was also the best coffee I have ever had. The employees were wonderful and so was the food. I would highly recommended stopping by for a great breakfast or lunch.
Severely allergic to wheat and had no reaction from the meal they prepared for me! Also, I normally hate lattes but I decided to give it a go and it was spectacular!
Nice atmosphere and staff. The food and tea is excellent plus all the ingredients are locally grown.
Good service but a little slow. Good food, very healthy, nice atmosphere.
Great food and an interesting atmosphere. I have never had anything bad from this place. They have a very diverse menu without having a million things, just the right amount. And they are always changing their specials! Good coffee too!
What a great place for breakfast or lunch. The food is sourced locally as much as possible and is of the highest quality. Some items are pre-prepared but a lot is cooked to order. It does mean that some food can take a little while to arrive so be careful if you're in a hurry. However, it's sure worth the wait if you do have time.
