Stayed for 3 nights. Room was OK but a bit of noise as windows weren't double glazed. Clean room and bathroom but no windows. The pool was delightful.

It’s been a while since I reviewed a hotel and Douglas House is definitely one to keep in mind when you visit Key West. It’s a hidden little gem on Amelia St and literally a few steps from the Duval strip. The front main office looks small but once you enter the courtyard with a pool, you are surrounded by multilevel historic style buildings. Each building has about 2 – 4 rooms or suites and some even have 2 levels. I’ve tried booking a 2 queen loft suite but they tend to get sold out often but I’m happy with the one we stayed at.

Our double queen room was very clean and super spacious with nice amenities. It featured 2 comfy beds, separate sitting area, fridge, microwave, TV, cold A/C with wireless remote, and a cool modern bathroom (no tub) complete with toiletries and blow dryer. The best part of this ground floor room was the private front porch. We loved just sitting there while chatting and having cocktails. It was relaxing.

We came here around October after the hurricane so the rate we got was a bargain for this type of accommodation. We paid $130 per night but their normal rate starts around $200 and up for a double. They also have free parking for guests which is about a block away so it’s pretty convenient rather than paying street parking. I highly recommend this quaint hotel and will definitely stay here again if I find good rates.

A very nice hotel! Staff was very friendly, the rooms were extremely nice, spacious and very cozy. The pool is also a very nice addition. It is close to the street with the bars but surprisingly it is very quite in the hotel. It is a bit pricy but totally worth it.

We stayed Sunday, Oct. 15th as we had other accommodations later in the week. Booked on booking dot com and got the #10 King Room. Free parking lot located down the street. We unloaded in the middle of the street right in front of house lol. Room was incredible. Most comfortable king bed and crisp bedding. Step down bathroom. Large size room. Everything in room renovated and so lovely! Small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Large porch with chairs facing tropical foliage with view of pool. The pool area was gorgeous with lovely resort towels and loungers on deck. Free coffee and ice water bar. Lots of people were around the pool area as it was just so relaxing. Can walk to Southernmost point, Higgs Beach, Beach Cafe and Hemingway house. No breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

We had the large 2-bedroom app. with the balcony facing Duval St. and it was my best hotel experience so far. Decorated with a good touch, an overwhelmingly spacious second floor bedroom and the ‚Wow‘ balcony made this a great stay.
The staff was very nice and helpful as well.
    It‘s worth the money!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!! HORRIBLE customer service during a time when Mother Nature has devastated an area. We had plans to stay here for my 30th birthday celebration but then Irma hit and caused a lot of destruction in the area (throughout ALL the keys which you need to drive through to get here). Instead of providing a full refund, they were incredible rude and disrespectful. Their website also claimed Key West was not ready for visitors but after we called they changed their website saying they are open. SHADY.

There are MANY more options you can choose when staying in Key Westdo NOT stay here. My advice as a Floridianstay at the Conch House.

Douglas house is a very comfy place right kinda like in middle of duval street. So that gives the guests a way walk to all the places and the free parking really helps in otherwise very crowded area. The rooms were very clean though I kinda had a issue with bugs and lizards in my room. I saw a big lizard right outside my room in the plants but that's ok coz of the humid weather and season. I didn't like the part of finding one in my bathroom. I saw some bug as well crawling through the floor and then on wall too. Don't know of that's ok or not. I have been to key west before and didn't had this issue on the other property near to this one. They dont really offer free breakfast or anything but I guess in a place like key west which always has overpriced rooms I got a pretty decent deal and would go back and stay with them. PS: Direct booking with them Give a you extra 15% discount which expedia and all will never give.

Very nice hotel, stayed in one of the stand-alones and had to get help locking the door everytime we left because the door jammed but that was our only problem. Very close to Duval Street.

Everytime I travel to Key West I stay at the Douglas. They have taken several historical houses and combined them into one. When you walk in the back courtyards you can see the connection. It's so quiet and peaceful. Rooms are so charming and clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. Duval is the main drag in KW. The Douglas is at the end. You can party where everything is wild, walk down Duval and the further you walk the more quiet it gets. I walked the streets late a night and never felt afraid, it's a good side of town. When I visit KW in the future I will stay at the Douglas. It's like going home.

Great location and amenities and price. Very friendly, would stay there again in a heartbeat. Only negatjve thing was that the blinds were a little lighter than I'd like and the roosters were loud!

The Douglas House is a hidden gem in Key West. Be sure to book your stay here, this hidden away refuge is only steps off Duval Street and even has a beautiful pool!

I am appalled at this place. My mother and her best friend stayed here and they had nothing but problems. She has come home sick because the place smelled like CAT URINE. My mother could not stomach to sleep on the bed and her friend had to sleep with a towel over her face. She said it was disgusting. The maids were kind and very sympathetic but the man that was the general manager was incredibly rude. Hostile and asked them to leave because they complained. I would never recommend this place and strongly advise anyone else of staying here. Mind you, this is not the first negative review about cleanliness or a rude man at the front desk.

Awesome! Stayed in the little "cottage" type room there for part of our honeymoon. Grounds were well kept, adorable little pool, staff was very friendly and helpful! Parking was right down the road which was great! Inn located on south side of Duval end so we did a lot of walking which was fine! South beach a small walk away. Beds comfortable, clean rooms, can't say enough about this place it was great!
