I attend a convention held at this hotel every year and the service is always excellent. This year they had a text message system for contacting the front desk and I used it to order a tooth brush as I forgot to pack mine. The response time was very quick. The Hotel is very close to the San Jose air port so there aren't many options for food if you don't have a car. I have never eaten at any of the in house restaurants. Fair warning the starbucks in the lobby is not full service and does not accept starbucks rewards cards or other kinds of gift cards. I enjoyed using the hot tub but the water was barely warm with cold water flowing in. I must have chosen the wrong time to go. The rooms are spacious with a desk and a desk chair and arm chair. The rooms have balconies and mine did not have a screen which didn't seem to be a problem for I us. I didn't notice any bugs fly in. The footprint of the hotel is very large so it can take a good chunk of time and energy to walk from one end to the other several times a day. My room mate and I had no trouble splitting the bill at check out between our two cards but we did use my room mates credit card to check in to cover the hold for incidentals which adds up quite a bit for four nights. The cookies at the front desk are delicious as always.

After paying a whopping $350 per night, we got a room that as very weird smelling. The carpet was wet, all the faucets were running when we entered. We were super tired so we just crashed. Next day the smell increased, it became unbearable. Upon complain, they gave us a different room. That is the reason m giving them a 3 instead of a 2. They were courteous and gave us the room happily. Rooms are not very great though, the property is huge and well maintained. The restaurants down are good and convenient.

The DoubleTree has come a long way. I've attended conventions there for many years and i can tell they have taken the feedback and ran with it. For instance, the carpet is very nice. It's reminiscent of an old navy camoflage called Sparkle. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Sadly Spencer's (chop house) was closed on Sunday, as i was interested in eating there. I would definitely return to the DoubleTree in the future.

I attended PantheaCon and had wonderful experiences in my interactions with the hotel staff. Everyone from cleaning staff, to servers & security, front desk up to the Convention Services personnel and managers were very friendly and competent. The rooms were spacious (the double rooms have 2 queen beds). The restaurant is a little better than average, Dutch the hours are too limited (it needs to be open longer. They also have a great variety function room sizes. All in all this has been a really great experience.

I was here for a professional event. First there is a lot of parking. I used the self park option which you need to pay for. I think I saw signs saying that their lot can be used for airport parking as well. There is a machine in the lobby to pay for parking or you can pay via the valet. (The parking machine was not accepting credit cards so I went to the valet). The hotel is incredibly large. The hotel placed signs for the event I was going to in the lobby and was easy to find and follow. The event I attended was catered by the hotel. The food tasted good and had vegetarian options. What stood out most was the service. The attentiveness of their staff was excellent. Any staff member I interacted with was very helpful and polite. I appreciated my experience there.

Great for events; plenty of event space, and right next to the airport. Unlike some other hotels in the area, the rooms are plenty spacious. Also, the shared balcony on the second floor is excellent if you're with a group.

Place is in need of a face lift and thorough cleaning. My room smelled musty or moldy, and I was congested entire time I stayed there. Conference center is OK, but coffee service was lousy and only available for a half hour at a time.

After trying many park and fly hotels in the area this is the best!!!!! They hotel is very friendly and the rooms are nice. The shuttle is great and fast. The price is more than the other hotels but it includes your parking for 12 days and when you land you call them they come right away and your car is valet parked they have it ready for you so you get off the shuttle straight to your car. I will pay a little more for the seamless experience that i have not had with the other park and fly hotels in the same area!

Had dinner at the Spencer's steak house. Environment is very classy and relaxing. Good for a date night or important meeting. Food was alright, not extraordinary, not something I would return for. Their aging process is wet age. I prefer dry age. They did have a special that night for dry age rib eye but I didn't have it

I thought the whole place was beautiful. I didn't like that you had to pay $22 for parking, never have I paid to park my car at a hotel while I stayed there. The warm cookies were nice but I think they should offer one without nuts for people with allergies. The room was big and the bed was pretty comfortable. The pillows we're heaven. I was enjoying my stay til I went to take a bath. There was hair in my tub. It definitely wasn't cleaned very well. The room service prices were extravagant. I loved that there was a Starbucks in the hotel but I thought with the prices we paid for everything we should have gotten a free Continental breakfast. I have stayed cheaper places that have been better and given me a free breakfast. Overall I thought it was overpriced but comfortable. Wouldn't stay there again.

To be fair. It's a nice hotel. I got a old-building feeling there but it is definitely will maintained. It's also pricey Which is pretty much all of San Diego. I was kinda disappointed that the rooms don't even have fridges (and microwave) and you will have to pay an extra daily rate to have one in your room. The breakfast voucher is also hilarious ($10 credit or just cold menu). Decent hotel but I'm not sure why it's worth that much.

Have used their airport parking service for years and love it. Fastest vans for pickup and closest location to the terminal. The catch is that the prices seem to very widely based on demand and the intermediaries who handle their sales. I only park here when it's less than $10, otherwise there are better options.

Decent property, but quickly aging. Could really use a face lift.

Typical DoubleTree rooms, but circa 2008. Just aged.

Decent bar (and bar food) in the lobby. Front desk service was good.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on here and they had the cheapest rates around

The hotel is upscale very nice and kept very clean. The staff is very kind and very helpful the rooms were large and ample with flat screen TVs and some rooms has nice views. I like that the rooms had his and her sinks only downside I found was the rooms did not have a refrigerator and you have to pay $22 a night to park your car or hourly which I find ridiculous if I'm already paying for the hotel. Other then that great Hotel.

A great hotel to stay! It is not only the hotel that's super nice but even the Front Desk & Guest Services Staff. Incomparable!! Lay-out of lobby is nice too! 100% recommended.
