Absolutely incompetent staff. They could not even provide a simple bill or receipt for my stay. They were confused by the concept of providing a receipt. The front desk staff is inept. The room however was clean, although it was small.
Beds are pretty comfortable, nice feather pillows. Definitely an older double tree, starting to look it's age and feel a bit tired. There is a restaurant and bar on the property which is above average food and has a little more interesting food options compared to other hotels. About 10 minutes from the airport. Also decent restaurants within walking distance Primanti Brothers, a barbecue place, nice breakfast place, and your regular chains Pizza Hut, Bob Evans, etc.
The bar here is nice and serves strong drinks. We went here after a wedding and the bartender was friendly and we didn't have to wait for drinks. Only downside is that the bar closes at 1.
This is a nice older hotel near the airport. The resturant was nice for drinks at night and breakfast in the morning. Quite nice staff.
Very nice hotel in Moon Township!
Jacksons restaurant has great food. A little pricey for the area but you are getting the upscale experience and food to match.
I attended a wedding here in 2011 and the staff and food was on point.
Only complaint is the rooms are very noisy. You here noises in the walls and ceilings and you can definately hear what is going on in the room next to you if you know what I mean!
Breakfast buffet is good.
Hotel is fine, complete with event rooms and a restaurant and bar. However, the single window in the room was so small! It made the entire room feel very dark and dingy!
Rooms and wedding reception service we're both fantastic. Great staff and clean venue.
For the price, I was not pleased. Despite telling the front desk about having issues with our key cards, they only offered to replace them if we were staying longer than one night-which we were not. We also had an issue with the deadbolt getting stuck in the locked position when the door was open. I tried working the lock toggle & the door handles-both inside & outside- without results, so I called the front desk. The young lady came up, did the same thing I did, and, of course, it worked. I tried to explain that I did the same thing, but she basically dismissed me & made me feel like I must have done it wrong. I explained to her about the issue with the key cards, too, & suggested that there might be something wrong with the door mechanism. She tried my key card, which didn't work 1st try but did 2nd try. She tried to show me how to use it properly, but it didn't work. At that point she said, "Maybe we'll look into getting this fixed."
I gave 4 stars for a few reasons. Small bathrooms in the hotel rooms, and no mini fridge or microwave. Other than that the service and staff are great. And the complimentary cookies are even better! The restaurant is what really makes this place. Try the brick oven pizzas you won't be disappointed. And the bar had some interesting characters, but in a good way.
Went to the DoubleTree Pittsburgh Airport for a three-day conference. There was an initial problem with my room and key that was resolved quickly. The hotel staff was very accommodating not only during this problem but throughout my entire stay. Upon unpacking, I discovered I neglected to bring some basics, including a razor and yes, even deodorant. The hotel staff provided the items for me, and refused to take any payment. My experience was thoroughly pleasurable. Ms. Hummer, the front office manager, even followed up with me to make sure everything was fine. That's a first for me! The rooms are large and well-maintained, I would stay here again and I would absolutely recommend it to others.
Friendly staff and clean rooms. Pool hours didn't seem to be very accurate though; it was closed during "open" hours multiple times. The fitness center is adequate for cardio purposes but dumbbells only up to 50lbs and no other equipment whatsoever. The rooms also did not have fridges which I was a little surprised by. Overall a good experience though.
Everything started off fine. We checked in, dropped our things off in our room and headed out for the evening. The room was clean, the temp was comfortable, Everything seemed great. We arrived back at the Hotel around 10 PM to find there was no where to park. Every parking spot was full. In fact people were parked in areas that weren't designated for parking (in lined off spots, in grass, on the shoulder of the parking lot). We drove in circles for nearly 10 minutes until someone left finally opening a parking spot. I don't think I'm asking for too much to expect a place to park my car if I'm paying to stay at a hotel. Once back in our room I turned the thermostat down because my wife and I prefer it to be cooler while we sleep. I set the temp to 65, following the instructions placed on the wall. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating noticing it wasn't very cool. The temp never went below 70. I informed the front desk of both of my complaints in the morning as we were checking out. Their only response was that I should have called the front desk to tell them to activate the AC in my room as it was turned off for the winter. No recognition of the parking situation, no apologies, just corrected as if I should have known to request AC. I have stay in a few different hotels and I've never had to ask the front desk for AC to be turned on in a Hotel room. I was not pleased with the customer service. This was my first stay at a Doubletree Hotel, and may very well be my last.
