Underwhelming, Overpriced & Unaccommodating manager, 'Sara'. She should NOT be working with the public. She hasn't a clue how to speak to customers, nor does she care (by the tone of her voice). Rude!! The corner queen suite is nothing but two motel styled rooms put together. The only way I can describe the furniture is 'Gross!' Very worn out decor. The wallpaper is peeling off the wall. The bathroom is another level of disappointing, very small room with a toilet crammed next to a tub/shower.. motel style. The vanity is between the two rooms, with only one little sink in the middle, not very 'suite' style. The beds looked cozy, until I pulled back the sheets on one of the beds to reveal brown stained sheets underneath (I took pictures), which circles right back to the word 'Gross' again. This room was suppose to be an up charge corner suite, but it's nothing but a big DISAPPOINTMENT! The Doubletree by Hilton should be ashamed to have their name on this place. Hopefully someone above the property manager, Sara see this to fix these problems, since she does not seem to care about her customers feelings. I would recommend whoever reads this review to stay elsewhere & get your money's worth. Avoid Disappointment. 👎🏻👎🏻(two thumbs down!)

The Doubletree in downtown Detroit was comfortable. We requested a late check out and, though the front desk confirmed, we were locked out of our room at the normal checkout time. They delivered wine to our room, though, when we called and requested. Overall, the stay was enjoyable. I would stay again.

They cancelled my reservation, didn't notify me, then charged my credit card for rooms which I never had access to. No apology from management.

I booked two rooms 2 months in advance online but was told on arrival that my reservation had been cancelled and that there was now no availability. Consequently, I had to search for another hotel for myself and two colleagues at the last minute and ended up paying twice as much. The management offered no apology and I'm currently in a dispute to have the charges refunded. I'll never stay again at a Hilton hotel based on this terrible service which I believe to be motivated purely by the hotel's ability to make more money on new bookings rather than by honouring advance bookings at a cheaper rate.

One of the nicer places I have stayed, anywhere. Free bottled water and hot cookies when we checked in. YUM! Have stayed in "suites" before, bit they turn out to be prob 100 sq feet. Our 2 queen suite was prob 600 sq feet, bathroom was huge! Very clean room, very clean hallways and entrance. Staff were very friendly. Definitely will be back here. Oh, and go eat at the Anchor Bar and Grill around the corner. Their food was awesome!!!

Great room, clean and comfortable. Easy access to transportation, just a block away. Good place to stay for a Tigers or Red Wings game. Only disappointment was that the bar closes at 11pm, which is a little early if you get back from the game at10:45. They did keep it open later because it was full of people, but announced last call at 11:30. They should be better prepared for game nights when the hotel is fully booked.
