Had an awesome experience here buying my 2018 Hyundai Elantra! I personally drove close to 5 hours to work with Chris Ford, because he made the process a very pleasant experience. Very happy with my new car, and satisfied with the pain-free process of buying it!

Service is always polite, professional, and timely. I have compared, and can't see savings going anywhere else.

Superior customer service and attention to even the most minor details makes Don Wood Hyundai the most outstanding automobile sales and service dealer I've ever dealt with. All of the team members made selecting and purchasing a vehicle that met my wishes a stellar event for me. I have always wanted a Hyundai vehicle due to its fabulous warranty and manufacturing excellence, and I chose Don Wood based upon a previous experience in acquiring a car for my wife. So it was no surprise when I received the same top quality attention the second time around. My sales person was very professional, knew every detail about the car I wanted, and took all the time I needed to make a choice that satisfied my needs and wishes. He was helpful, patient, courteous, knowledgeable, personable, and VERY professional. He answered all my questions, both before, during, and after the sale. No pressure; just total concern for my requirements. No detail was left to chance, no question left unanswered, and no consideration overlooked. From start to finish, my car-buying experience couldn't have been better! I'd recommend Don Wood Hyundai to anyone who wishes to have the very finest customer experience, from the initial contact to the moment of delivery and beyond. In my opinion, the Don Wood group is a top-drawer company. I'm more than pleased to have dealt with them, especially my salesman, Jordan Coffman but also the entire staff at the Don Wood Hyundai! One does not have to support a business just because it is local.
A business transaction turned into a nightmare at Don Wood Hyundai of Athens, Ohio when they failed to explain why they attempted to over-finance more than $4000 on an auto loan.
Upon questioning, the manager purposely misled customer about the total delivered price after a wasteful week of forcing the customer to apply for a cumbersome deal with Uber to receive an unqualified rebate.
The sale agents’ common courtesy was soiled by the caustic condescension and distressing disrespect the manager employed to treat his customer.
He accused the buying party of failing to pay attention to his authoritative voice, and disproved the myth of “The Customer Is Always Right” by escalating the negotiation into a shouting match that mortified even his own employees.
The dealer’s lack of transparency regarding their loan financing tactics should be a red flag to any prospective customer, whom I strongly urge to explore your own financing option beforehand if you have no other choice but to do business with this toxic facility.
Claiming to have “more than 30 years in the business” does not make you an expert, Mr. manager, it just emboldens you to extort people whom you deem easily conned.
The one star given in this review was to commiserate with the employees who have to suffer under the current management for the sake of making a living.
With absolutely no reservation, I would recommend this business if you enjoy having the masochistic experience of public humiliation, verbal altercation, and impending doom that somebody chased after you as you try earnestly to pick up the last bits of composure and do business elsewhere.response / report this review -

Went down after work after the wife said she needed a car. They stayed late, got me into the car that i wanted, in the price range that i needed. Jordan the salesman that helped me was quite friendly and personable and made me feel comfortable and important. My wife and I love her new Elantra and couldn't be happier. I've even told my mother in law to go down and talk to him and possibly get one.

I wasn't exactly in the market for a new car but I was in the market for something different and with a lot less miles than my old car. They let me know that they'd keep trying to help me get into a different vehicle after my first visit there. A few days later they call and let me know that they got me approved for a brand new car! And they payments weren't that much highet than what I was already paying plus I have warranties on it that would have cost an extra car payment for my last car! Tyler was who worked with me and I highly recommend talking with him!

The absolutely most hassle free courteous, beyond the second mile car buying experience I have ever experienced. Total professionals at ever possible juncture of the process of selecting, driving, and buying a car. In fact we purchased two vehicles and also helped our daughter select one as well. Don Wood's staff truly put us first and we appreciate their professionalism.

Jordan provides excellent service, His honesty and dedication when selling me my new car is more than appreciated. Matt makes financing and all of that paper work smooth and hassle free!, this isnt the first car I have bought from Jordan and it certainly isn't the last. Don Wood employees really do go the extra mile for customer satisfaction. If you are shopping for a new car, you really do need to go to Don Wood in Athens and ask for Jordan !

Had new headlights put in because the old ones had condensation in them. It was under warranty. They were very quick in the service department at Don Wood Hyundai! Not a long wait at all! Thank You!
