This was a beautiful place and with the holiday decor even more so. The food however is dated and very bland. There is plenty, served family style and you get to take home the leftovers. It is a fixed cost menu including drink and dessert (there was only one choice so if you don’t care for that choice you’re out of luck). I had heard very good things about this restaurant years ago but now is in need of a food update.

December 25, 2017 Christmas lunch The Dillard House was dressed out for Christmas What a lovely treeWe assumed there would be a crowd so we planned an early arrival. Good plan, but DH staff were thoroughly prepared for the crowd. Once service started, they moved diners VERY efficiently. Service staff were openly, genuinely friendly and attended multiple tables well. Food, nothing but kudo's for everything out on the tables The cabbage casserole was a delightful surprise. 5-stars for their Christmas event, I'm sure I will follow that with 5 for Dillard House daily also.

Absolutely the best farm to table restaurant anywhere. Prices for what you get are also very reasonable. We had Christmas lunch here and the ham was as good if not better than honey baked ham. Worth the drive from Atlanta and beautiful scenery on the way up also.

Went with a group of friends a few weeks ago and we had a wonderful time. The staff was awesome, the food was delicious and just kept coming until we were stuffed. It was all quite inexpensive..

We stayed here at their villas and ate at the restaurant. The restaurant was amazing. Very pricey so we only got the eat there once but really good! They bring all the food out to your table at once just like Thanksgiving dinner! They will even bring seconds if you ask. True southern cooking! Our waiters and servers could have been a little friendlier. They were busy and we're not very friendly. The grounds around the restaurant were beautiful! Pretty mountain view, stables, petting zoo, etc. It was a great experience!

We've made it a tradition. For those with bad reviews, just think of it as being a guest at someone's house and eating supper with them. The guy that found something in his drink, it happens. The one that needed a napkin, get one. The one that had a waiter that didn't know what's in the relish, he's just a waiter. Ask the chef. The one with cold food, ask if you can warm it up. If you drive from Knoxville to eat at 735pm. No restaurant staff appreciates that if they close at 8. And sometimes you just got bring your standards down to enjoy a good country style meal. It's the country. Be country and expect country back go back to the city. We like it.

The food was good. Some of it very good. If this review was just about the food, it would get a 4. However, the girl behind the counter was more interested in her phone than the customers or the trash can behind her which was literally overflowing and things falling on the floor. The big issue was the kid with the flipped up hair which was sitting in the food when he carried the trays out. When the manager was told, she said first that she was watching and no, his hair wasn't in it. When told that yes it was, she replied "so?". I seriously doubt this place has been around so long with staff and management like this. If it keeps up, I don't think reputation will help keep it going much longer.

The mountain views are lovely at this Georgia tradition, where you see 3 or 4 generations of families dining together. Whatever is on the menu that's what you getall of the dishes. We had two meats and nine side dishes. Notable was the squash casserole, the pole beans and the baby carrots. The rest were routine and lacked flavor. The fried chicken was tender, but once again, lacked any seasoning. The country fried steak was tough. Sadly, often the food gets cold before you can finish it. The corn muffins and biscuits were good. Dessert was a tasty apple cobbler with ice cream. Oh and did I mention the farm animals and horses on view? Please note that there is always a waiting list for seating.

As we were getting up to leave from lunch yesterday (party of 4, approx. 1:30), my husband went to take the last drink of his tea and saw what he thought was a lemon seed on the lemon--it wasn't a seed. It was a small roach. We got the attention of Melissa (wasn't wearing a server's uniform; she must have been a manager of some kind or a hostess) and showed her the glass with the bug in it. She looked at it, said "I'm sorry," took the glass, set it on a table and then she continued setting up the table next to us, with no other acknowledgement whatsoever. She could have at least acted like she was sorry but she didn't. We will never go there again and will do our best to let everyone know about this experience.

Went mid-afternoon to avoid crowd. Food good but service less than good. It seemed like all the young people running it liked talking to each other better than servicing customers. Asked for an item twice in 15 minutes to get it. Tea glasses sat empty. Never told about the country ham you had to ask for to get. Bread was barely warm

Take my wife and daughter there had a very bad experience. No one greeted us when we sat down or explained what was going on we didn't get our drinks when complain to the manager she took it personal and made personal attacks I had to take it to the general manager John I hope he can take care of the situation in the future

I just returned from a two day trip to Dillard house. My gf and I enjoy coming there and have been coming there several years. It's a nice place and we love the pool area. However, one thing that really bothers me is what we have been told how the AAA discount works. We have been told that it works by giving us an upgraded room. The same time we were told that, there was hardly anyone at the resort. Leads me to believe AAA discount isn't being honored. Have also been told there is a 20% weekday discount, and got it once, but haven't other times. Talked to other ppl that have had the same experiences and although I love the place, the hassle of checking in and being jerked around about the price, I think I will start visiting other resorts

Ate there this afternoon. Highly let down to a point of talking to manager and having comped half off.
This place is over rated, and the food was bland.
Told the manager corn on cob was previously frozen, had tons of silk on it, very bland! Found egg shell in sweet potato side, and fried okra was too stringy (old when picked) upon eating.
For the price of what one pays, the food should be local and fresh!
This was way off.
Will not make the mistake again.

Over the years this place is defiantly gone down hill, it is not at all what it used to be. It's as though they went from that family owned feel to corporation feel and I've been going here at least once a year since 1995. It's a good kinda of hidden gem that's lost it's shine. I really hope they buff out that corporate dullness they've been going through and get back to the family shine that I've enjoyed since i was a kid.
