This park has a great mountain bike trail system. It is fairly technical single track for most of the current trail with more being built this year.

A family favorite place to visit every summer. Love the calm, peaceful, serene atmosphere that the lake offers. Lots of activists. Camping boating jetski, canoeing, etc. And, shopping and dining are near by. We visit a few times a month in the summer.

Beautiful park with breathtaking views of the lake. Really well taken care of. Bathrooms aren't a mess like in some other state parks. It's worth a trip just to enjoy the view.

Beautiful state park. The beach is very nice, family friendly. There are plenty of areas to grill, and bathroom access is close. Also, check out the raptor sanctuary. Very cool! They have a lot of info as well as different raptors found in Maryland. A great choice for a family day out.

Beautiful place to go especially in the fall season! Also try renting a lake house nearby for an adventure packed weekend

Very beautiful views. My family has hosted their annual reunion there for over 40 years. I love visiting the quaint neighboring towns, too. The lake has very cheap entrance fees.

We camp here every year with our kids. They love seeing the wildlife, going to the beach, the discovery center, and just being out in nature. I love how friendly everyone is and how clean the sites and bathhouses are. Highly recommend this park to everyone.

We took our nephews through the Discover Center and aviary and had a blast! The volunteers at the DC are friendly and will let you touch some of the critters.

The beach is small, but not too crowded. There is a nice shady tree line and plenty of tables to sit at if you forget your whole beach umbrella kit.

Nice place to take the kids. Plenty of restrooms. Beach area is nice but a little rocky. Lots of grills. Would make a great place to spend the day.

Great campground for tents. Sites level & easy on the stakes. They charge to enter the beach(unless you have a camp site) . The main lake is not good for kayaks, big waves & boats.

Very clean and the staff is very informative. Neat assortment of animals and reptiles on site. Plenty of opportunities to trick your children into an educational experience without them knowing.

We had a fantastic time here hiking and visiting the discovery center. They have a good number of trails and you can even visit a mine from the early part of the 20th century. I can't say it was much to look at but an interesting history lesson on the area and a not overly challenging hike. The discovery center was great as well with displays on a variety of local animals inside. We were also fortunate to catch a talk on a great horned owl. Despite the rain we also ventured out to see the other large birds of prey in the aviary nearby. They have at least 10 birds including owls, eagles, falcons, and hawks, and a turkey buzzard. Well worth the visit.
