Stayed here before our vacation. Great service. Room was decent, nothing spectacular but served the purpose.
Not bad for the price. Definitely dated, but seemed clean. Average free breakfast.
Didn't get much sleep. Started out ok ,but then woke up to someone in the adjacent room who was having digestive issues. Very loud sounds of someone releasing gas. Couldn't get back to sleep. But the breakfast was a welcome site . Hope whoever it was feels better. They could easily have won a contest.
Really nice staff. The first room I had smelled horribly of smoke. It was the non smoking room. The next they gave was much better. A fairly reasonable place to lay your head for the night. 2.5-3 stars.
This two star hotel is a good place to stay. The price is reasonable, they pay for a taxi from the airport, offer breakfast in the morning, and the bed was ok. I would recommend if you ever in Albany, NY and need a place to stay.
Having read the reviews, I wasn't sure what I was going to walk into. I needed a hotel with airport shuttle for one night. The cab company they use for airport shuttle had bad reviews but I ended up with a quick and kind driver with no problem there. The staff at the hotel was kind enough to hold out my reservation for me when my flight was delayed by hours so again no complaints there. The hotel itself is just old. Old building, old decor so could definitely use an update all around and maybe a spraying (I had a spider in my bathroom) but for a quick night, I was fine. Breakfast is nothing to write home about but it's the typical hotel breakfast - donuts, bagels, wrapped muffins, oatmeal, cereal, waffle machine, coffee, hot water for tea. And it's free. If you need a hotel with more amenities, with an updated feel this isn't the one. If you need to sleep somewhere, this one is literally two minutes from the airport and maybe 15 from the mall. It's acceptable.
Incredibly helpful front desk; excellent service! I booked a last minute trip passing through Albany on Sunday evening of July 4th weekend, and they could not have been more helpful and positive. I mentioned over the phone that I had to make a connection with the bus terminal downtown the next morning and when I arrived four hours later, the guy had researched all the routes and schedules, and presented me with a variety of options, with budget in mind. When I booked, the king sized room was the same price as a single, and there is indeed ample room. Things were clean and orderly, and the rooms had enough air conditioning (I like things really cold; but all the same temperature is adjustable in the room). The bathroom was fine - not a spa, but enough for anyone - and always clean.
Only one thing to be aware of: the airport shuttle is actually the city's cab service (Capitaland), and the cab driver should collect his fare inside at the desk where they have the money set aside, even though they may try to collect it from you up front - though what the hotel pays them is pretty close to the basic fare so you might want to save a few dollars to tip as well. The cab driver I got was great
So really, I had no problems at all and everyone was incredibly kind, obliging, and went above and beyond to help me. It's a shame that as of this writing there have been so many negative reviews
Very dirty no service at all! Zero! had to beg for towels and toilet paper.found bed bugs all they did was move me one room over and said I could treat the room myself if I was uncomfortable. Also their is no breakfast if you are a weekly rate not a single nite. The room on they moved me to was dirty I vacuumed it myself. Trash cans stay full. Found a syringe in the parking lot a week ago told them about it. It's still their. I would appreciate it if some kind of upper management contacted me
Upon arrival, they put me into a smoking room, despite the fact that I reserved a non-smoking room. Once in the room, there were pubic hairs on the bed sheets, companied with an array of cigarette burns. On the floor were Cheetos and spider webs (no, this was not a complimentary snack). In an attempt to call the front desk, the phone number sheet was ripped off, forcing me to walk down to the front desk. Here I spoke with the manager, who agreed to knock down the rate to $50/night and checked me into a cleaner, newer room. Once in the new room, the alarm clock, microwave, and TV were not operational, and I had to call for assistance to get them back on. After the hour long check-in cherade, I was able to take a shower in a somewhat clean bathroom and shower.
Honestly, all said and done, do not book a room here It's simply not worth the frustration. Spend a little more for a place where you can walk around without stepping on Cheetos.
I was only in town for 1 night and wasn't looking to spend a whole lot. Lesson learned. When I got there the manager was at the front desk, playing on his cell phone, and didn't even bother to acknowledge my existence for a good 2-3 minutes while he finished what he was doing. No 'hello', 'how are you', nothing. I got a frank "Checking out?" "Yes, at 3:30p I am checking out." "Huh", messes around silently with the computer for another 1-2 min, "Are you Bridgett? I need your credit card". We get checked in and he tells me I'm going to need to wait while he tried to find the housekeeper because she was supposed to call him at 3 to tell him rooms were cleaned but "apparently has chosen not to today". Professional. Comes back 5 minutes later to tell me I can go to my room. The room. Wow. Carpets look like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. Room smelled like musty, stale cigarettes. The window curtains were stained with God knows what (probably uncleaned blood for the brutal attack that happened there 6/5/2016-as i learned later). Around midnight, there's a knock on my room door. By the time I get to the door, gone. I make sure the door is double locked from the inside and get back in bed. Then I can hear someone outside the room with a key trying to get in the room. I get up, throw the door open, and asked "what can I do for you?" This poor guy apologizes, saying he saw the door tag on the door and informed the desk clerk that someone was in this room but they insisted the room was empty and told him to try getting in anyways. Wonderful. Beds suck and are uncomfortable but at this point are the least of my concerns. The next morning I woke up to staff outside my door very loudly complaining about another customer that had just checked out. When I checked out the woman at the front told me I was all set and asked "Did someone come to your door last night? We don't even have you in our system". Really? Because the guy clearly knew my name and took my money. "Oh yeah, that was the manager. He can be a bonehead." Absolutely unreal. The entire stay was disgusting from services to conditions of the room. I'll never waste my money with Days Inn again.
..stayed here Thanksgiving night with my Mom who had 2 gift certificates which although obtained from previous owners were graciously honored by the new owner, Derrick. We had a most pleasant stay. Staff were so very friendly and most helpful. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Yes, the hotel could use some updates which I'm sure will be addressed in the future, but for now this is an excellent hotel for the price. PS. The complimentary breakfast is great, especially the waffles!
First time stayed here on October 2014 during business trip and it was kinda terrible. Room and linen were dirty and when I asked receiption to change it, they just shrugged off.
Stayed second time only because location is great as it's very close to airport and they have free shuttle, also the price is quite low. But I was pleasantly surprised this time - my room was clean, no complaints here, and the manager guy was very nice and answered all my questions, he even helped me with power adapter. Giving it four stars because they need to deep clean carpets and make breakfast bigger.
