I recently had to replace the transmission in my HOnda CRV. A former client of mine[I am retired] highly recommended Dawes Automotive, so I called them for a quote. After speaking with Tom Dawes on the phone, he was so professional and knowledgeable that I decided to let him do the work rather than call around. I had heard some prices and his was a fair price and that is all I wanted along with quality work. I got a great job, fair price, and have found a trusted mechanic for all of my future needs. Having a worn down automatic transmission that finally bit the dust, I called around a total of 10 local transmission shops, of the three that actually had working phones and answered, Dawes was very straightforward, honest, and gave me a fully researched quote (actually three quote options) rather than just a rough estimate. The customer service was great, and even though the hurricane in Texas had delayed my part (and the company sent the wrong one, so another delay totaling almost two weeks), he was always willing to give me a heads up and took my time into consideration. His quote was spot-on, and didn't mess around, he even came in and worked all day on a weekend to try to rectify the delays we had. This kind of service is greatly appreciated when your car is your livelihood. This place is also one of the ONLY places in the area that will service any aspect of your vehicle. Coupled with being honest and straightforward with everything (on top of a very friendly and professional demeanor), I know where I am going for future work. Took an extra business card to reccomend to my friends who may have car troubles. Upstanding customer service, great work, and affordable prices. 5/5 stars for sure!

Amazing experience Other mechanic wanted to charge me to put a new head on the car due to a blown spark plug. Dawes looked at the car explained what had happen and put in a helix coil and save me thousands that i didn't need to spend. Honest and very dependable. Thank you

My first experience with Tom at Dawes Automotive was when I was having a problem with a leaky tire, and asked them if they could put the spare on for me. It wound up taking both techs about an hour and a half because the spare tire wench assembly was broken and they wound up having to cut the cable to get the tire free, after trying repeatedly to salvage the assembl first. After all was said and done they didn't gouge me with a stiff bill, instead he smiled and said we were all set and sent me on my way. They were very personable, and having an extensive background in auto mechanics as well, could tell he knew his business and was not out to get rich off his customers. I'm new to the area and will now be using him for all my automotive services.
