Visited this place for the first time on my birthday. The food was very good. We loved the ambience. The outdoor patio seating has a fountain view. If you are celebrating you get a choice as well. !

Great place to have a work party! Food and service were excellent. The waterfall outside is beautiful as well. The only downside is it can be hard to find at night if you approach the entry from the front. There's only an elevator on street level, so keep your eyes out for where it is.

Food was good. Not over the top. Similar to most high end steak houses. Service was frenetic with so many staff assisting. Live piano music appreciated.

Excellent view! My choice ribeye came out very charred at first but it was redone and came out good. The molten peanut butter cake is also delicious. Great place if you're looking for a unique experience.

We have been to Dakota's twice in the past year and it is an excellent place if you are looking for an upscale restaurant with great food, amazing servers and a lot of ambiance. When we arrived last night I was a little concerned because the bar was full and the noise level was LOUD. Also, there was a private function going on. Since we were celebrating our anniversary I was hoping for a quiet and romantic evening. The hostess not only seated us far away from the noise, but also put us in a private area. The server was very attentive, the manager/owner checked on us during our meal and all of our needs were met, including someone calling a cab for us when we were ready to go. It's expensive and not a place you would typically go very often (or at least, we wouldn't); however, we consider it first whenever we are going to see a show at Winspear Theater.

Just an excellent experience. My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here and we both could not have been more pleased with both the service and the food. Just amazing! Najeeb was our server and was simply excellent. He made us feel like family and was just awesome. Thanks Dakota's!

Solid steak house, whether you are with a small intimate group or entertaining clients. Their selection and delivery of high quality dishes exceeds their prices. I've been there several times and it's been consistent every time.

Absolutely amazing. The crab cake was simply amazing. The loaded mash potatoes were out of this world. And of course the main event, the 12oz Fillets were some of the best we have ever had and we are from Chicago were steak is King. Perfect medium rare cook, seasoned wonderfully melting in your mouth. Service was great and atmosphere is beautiful. They had a few problems making my wife's martinis but corrected them and took care of us making sure she was happy, which she was. If you are looking for a reasonable priced steakhouse in Dallas, this is it. Blows so many of these overpriced corporate places out of the water. We have had great food each time here, we will be back again!

I have eaten here on occasion and enjoyed the food. This particular time my girlfriend and I went for happy hour and we were disappointed. The service at yhe bar was good but the selection was not. They really are not a good place for happy hour as they don't have good bar bites and only a couple of drink options for happy hour. We made do but we won't return for happy hour there.

Atmosphere was awesome, drinks were awesome, service was awesome. However, the food was just okay. Went for our one year anniversary and had a nice time, but we probably won't be coming back because the steaks were average.

Came here for my boyfriend's company Christmas party. Loved the location and the decor; the waitstaff was very courteous. We had a private room reserved for our party, which was fantastic. The food was amazing; I shared my name with house wine that night, so I had to have some - also amazing. Fantastic overall experience.

From the moment we walked in the piano playing and great customer service was only the start of one the best restaurant experiences I have had. The wait staff was professional and personal suggesting her favorites on the menu which we did take her suggestions and the food was on another level I'd definitely suggest visiting Dakota's in you have the chance! It's hard to get good service and good food most times you sacrifice one or the other this visit was completely satisfactory!

I've been to Dakota's twice - once for lunch and once for dinner - and was impressed both time with the food quality and the level of service. The staff is very nice and accommodating and I thoroughly enjoyed my steak both times. The wine list is good, too! It is also fun to enter using the elevator from Akard. Check this place out!
