No one ever answers the phone, when you send an email everything is auto reply. They make it extremely hard for someone that lives out of state and needs to have an issue resolved. Even when you fax you get no response. All around terrible service, communication and resources.

God forbid if you actually need to settle a matter in Cumberland County. The way the justice system is handled in the county is an absolute joke .. from the police officers, courthouse staff, magistrates, and anyone else who works for this city for the judicial system. They are entitled, unhelpful and crooked. There should not even be a phone number for this courthouse, you will NEVER receive an answer and will be instructed to email a request for whatever you inquiry is. My advice, DO NOT RESIDE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY! Your tax dollars are wasted on this town as they do not care about their citizens. If you are in the military, I advise you to find a home for you and your family in a neighboring town with a better governing system, anywhere but Cumberland County!

James Bradford couldn't have expressed and sumed it up any better. I not only lost my child in a custody battle under a judge that has thankfully retired but now have to endure Domestic Violence as a result of this judged uninformed decision. And I can not fail to mention the Attorney who was handling my case was disbarred for sexual assault against his female clients. So basically I lost custody of my child as a result of paying an Attorney who did not represent me. I will be honest and say there are new judges who i believe and know will uphold their oath and be fair and unbiased.

Don't know what to think of this place. My partner has been trying to find divorce records to find out if the ex has divorced him so he can move on; it would most likely be here, but they claim there are no records. In all the state of NC, which is where it would take place, there are no records? This is not the only office that stinks, they all do. Why is there not a public site for such records like every other state? It's a DIVORCE, it is not someone's bank info or SSN. A person deserves to know if a court hearing pertaining to them has happened without having to hire an attorney to sue the ex for the information, which he might have to do. Just too much hassle and not enough public information.

0 STARS! By looking at other reviews it sounds like I am not the only one who had a bad experience with the lady who answers the phone at the clerks office. I get it dealing with the public can sometimes be a pain but she chose to work there so instead of answering the phone like I am a bother to her, she needs to learn customer service and social skills or find a new profession. I had to make several phone calls today to different areas in NC and everyone was very helpful and friendly, everyone but her! When she was rude I politely told her everyone besides herself had been very helpful and she hung up on me! Someone needs to do an employee evaluation. . .
