I believe she is listing the wrong carpet store (Jenn B). I cannot find anyone who bought $4,000 of hardwood over the counter and had it installed by someone else. In fact, I cannot find a hardwood sale of $4,000 WITH INSTALL. I believe she definitely has the wrong store. The owner of our store is Ron Blackwelder and he does not nor never has drunk alcohol at this store or smelled of alcohol. In addition, I checked our books and we do not have a customer with this name. Ron is the only man who works at this store and he is seldom in the store.

About a year ago I bought some engineered hardwood bu Mohawk from Cumberland Carpets Inc. I went in there looking for hardwood for my bedrooms, but they didn't have the color I was looking for. It was pretty obvious the guy working there was a little intoxicated, he smelled like he took a bath in liquor as well as his attitudehe was very cocky. Despite that fact, he seemed to really know what he was talking about when it came to flooring. He talked up the engineered hardwood like it was just as good as hardwood. I have real hardwood through out most of my house, so I know how to care for it. I was renovating my home, so I had them install the flooring instead of Cumberland Carpets. I spent almost $4,000 for just 3 bedroom and a closet..plus still had to pay close to the same amount to have it installed! They followed the directions to the T on prep and installation. In just a few weeks, the floor started to scuff. Over time, it obviously got worse. There are tons of dents in the floor from furniture (not scrapes, but dents just from sitting there, it's like the floor is spongy). This flooring is absolutely WORTHLESS. I'm so embarrassed I had to put down area rugs. Per the contract, Mohawk will only replace with the same flooring, but I have to pay installation. I'm not going to pay a bunch of money just for my floors to look crappy again. It's inferior flooring, they should give me a refund! I will never order from Cumberland Carpets (they sell it, which means they back up the product, and the guy talked it up like it was insanely durable) or buy anything branded Mohawk. I've already told all of my friends and posted pictures as proof.

In refurbishing a house to prepare for renters, the staff of Cumberland Carpets was helpful, friendly and thorough. They understood that I was looking for a low cost quality carpet for tenants and had just what was needed. They clearly communicated their installation schedule and were on time. The measuring and quote were accurate. After the installation there were some minor issues that were quickly addressed and corrected at no charge. This is a family owned, well run business. I will return to them if I need flooring in the future. (And by the way, I was working with them at Christmas time just before they were closed for a week.)
