I've been planning on trying Cueva Bar since I first heard about it, and I it did not disappoint. Flavors were great, wine was smooth, but portions just a bit small. Before you say "but they are tapas!", they weren't all small. The tacos represent a good value and the empanadas with chimichurri were delicious. The guacamole tower was a great starter too. But don't go here with a really big appetite. This is a quaint, cute little wine/tapas spot. Go on a date here.

Was really impressed with the great quality of food but too bad for the poor customer service ruined my experience for the evening. Place was not packed at all in the restaurant and yet could not get the waitress or waiter to ask if we needed more food or more wine or have my glass of water refilled. I had to ask each time for the waitres each time we needed assistance. I left restaurant thirsty and not happy at all how poorly we were treated, but food was great but will not returning again. Happy returning customers need good customer service, good food and fair prices for them to come back! Too bad you guys struck out in good customer service.

This small, local restaurant is a true gem! I went for the first time tonight and loved all of the food, particularly the Muffin Espanol. There is a great wine selection, the food is delicious, and the plates are not too small. For a tapas place, the tacos were not street sized. Overall a great experience!

You honestly can't go wrong with any of the food! Get there during happy hour for the best deals! Despite living on the east coast now, ever trip to San Diego involves dinner here!

What's to say that hasn't already been said by pretty much everyone?!
Great food, great service, super cute restaurant, and great wine list. I am particularly a fan of the fact that all Suzanne Goin's restaurants carry at least one or two bottles of Giornata wine.
There's a reason Cueva Bar has been around for so long! Go enjoy some of the deliciousness

Try this place! Seriously, the food is fantastic. I've visited 3-4 times now and I've tried many of the things on the menu. Mac and cheese is crazy good Empanadas are down right beautiful to look at, and then to eat. The owners are most always around and are kind enough to introduce themselves. It's a small place good for 2 or 4 if you need more seats than that, you better call ahead. Listen to me now Try this place!

Absolutely some of the most delicious and refined tapas I have ever had. We absolutely loved the atmosphere and felt very taken care of by the wait staff. We will definitely come back here for special occasions!
