Normally It's super quiet. They're doing renovations so it was a little noisy. The staff is always great!
Check in and check out was so easy and everyone was so cordial and courteous. Even the gentleman who drove the shuttle to downtown Charleston was incredibly accomodating! Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff on the floors were helpful, also. The young lady who checked us out was so bubbly and vivacious!! We definitely will return!!
We stay in Charleston frequently. This was our first stay at Courtyard by Marriott. It was extremely nice and clean. We especially liked the layout of the hotel and rooms. The rooms were spacious. The beds were comfortable, giving us a good night's sleep. We were greeted with two bottles of water and the famous Charleston Chews sitting on the desk as we entered the door. A small gesture goes a long way. One plus we found was a lot of underneath parking which we've had difficulties with at other hotels in the past. We will be staying at Courtyard by Marriott on our future trips.
Would like to give Mrs Ursula (head of house keeping) big ups and a big Thank You!! She went out of her way for three guys in town on a fishing trip. We were a little cramped in the room we reserved, she noticed and tried to upgrade us w/o hesitation but no luck. She did bring in a roll away cot and left us a nice surprise in the fridge. I did not get to thank her on the way out so thank you! The next time I'm in Charleston in will stay at this Marriott again. She's a wonderful part of their team and hope she is appreciated. The hotel is nice, in a great location and has great views of the river.

Great stay. Rooms are not very large. Clean and safe area. Hotel has lots of options to keep you local. It's near many things. But you will need to drive. Not walking distance.
This hotel is one of the better more reasonably priced hotels we've stayed at in Charleston. It's 5 minutes away from downtown by car and about 35-40 minutes walking at a strolling pace. The hotel is newly updated, clean, and unique. Great for a overnight stay. I wouldnt say it's the place to stay on a honeymoon however it's perfect for a fun weekend stay. No continental breakfast, but they have a Starbucks that sells decent breakfasts for about 10-12 dollars. Over all I would recommend this place.
Wow! This hotel is amazing. Gorgeous views, amazing and large balconies, a really nice outdoor space where you can watch the boats or just sit and talk. I loved it. The bistro is nice, too, and the staff of friendly. I will definitely stay here again.
We booked months before the eclipse because we wanted to be in Charleston. No idea the hotel was throwing a super fun viewing party! From the time we checked in the entire staff was amazingly helpful and fun. Facilities were great, loved the location. Extra details made the difference from being a decent hotel to having a fab experience. Would for sure stay here again next time I'm in town.
Hotel was recently remodeled but it was primarily cosmetic. The a/c in the lobby didn't work. The elevator didn't work in the morning. The bed is very very soft. There is no room service and no lunch, but they did add to their dinner menu. Good but small portions. I taught a class in the meeting room and the set up wasn't done properly. They eventually got the set up where it needed to be but considerably than was necessary. That said, all the staff has been friendly and helpful to fix the issues.
Checked in after boiler broke- no hot water but we were not told this. Breakfast was a slow process- stood in line a long time and waited longer for our food. Air conditioner broke that night. Finally, a warm shower- only to return to the hotel to find out the water was cut off again for repairs. Accidentally left a shopping bag loaded with new purchases in our room and it did not get turned in to lost and found. First visit here in the fall was great, but this visit was one for the books.
Quick check-in, quiet, comfortable rooms. Can hear a very light hum from the nearby highway, but nothing distracting. The balcony view depends heavily on which side of the building your room is on. But we spent our days out in Charleston, so not much of a concern. Breakfast was very light, (cereal, bread, coffee, milk, fruits, hard boiled eggs) but we're told that's temporary until the kitchen is up and running. There's a nice outdoor lounge area and a pool below (but only 3-4ft deep) as well as a fire pit that's usually lit. Overall, a comfortable experience. No real complaints.
Elevator was really slow. The lounge was nice and had a good Continental breakfast spread. The patio was huge! It had a great view of the harbor with rocking chairs, reclining chairs, a pool, hot tub and fire pit all. Great place to bring your drinks from the bar in the lounge. The room was clean and large with black out curtains and great A/C.
I was in Charleston with friends who had their reception dinner at the Courtyard Charleston Waterfront. What I saw of the hotel was incredibly nice, they have a good location, the staff was very attentive and helpful, the views are amazing (overlooks the yachts in the marina) and the Food Was INCREDIBLE! They prepared a low country boil with shrimp, potato, sausage, and corn. I Had a great time! Although I did not stay in one of their rooms one of the employees mentioned all the rooms had just been renovated. My recommendation is based upon a reception dinner and not an actual stay at the hotel as I only attended a reception there.
