Along with forgetting our silver ware, we were given dirt napkins, the service was horrible, and the food taste like it was sitting there all day. On top of that a the waitress asked for a 18% percent tip, when she barely deserved 5% ! I definitely will never be attending this restaurant ever again.
The food was delicious, the music was great, Glenn and his buddy chip, not as uppedie as I thought, nice group of people, the service was good, they never let you run out of water.
Food was fantastic.. I'd say a mom and pop place at it's best. More restaurants should pay attention to basic food done well. Nice Job Colony!!
My wife and I on a road trip for our anniversary stopped in Erie with high expectations, i guess, i mean, their website is great! Arrived around 8pm, place was empty except for the bar with everyone turning heads with side eyes as we walked in. Felt uncomfortable! Food was horrible! Not the place for great seafood cooking. Breaded fish and gritty scallops, yuck! Didnt stay long, doggy bagged the food, finished our drinks and left, throwing $50 worth of their so called food into a garbage outside! On the Brightside, the service was great, i do commend your servers and i did tip well but dont think i will EVER come there again!
Used Erie fine dining card here and they took off the kids meal as the free one (even though we ordered 4 adult meals) Prices were high for the quality of the food. The food was definately not great. The kids meal is 5.99 and a child's soda is an additional 2.50!
It was supposed to come with free ice cream that we had to ask for. We asked about the fine dining card in advance, seems like we would have been told it would only remove the 6.00 kids entree.
We went for our 20th Anniversary. Had a great meal, good service and nice atmosphere. Shared salad and 3 dressings to try was a plus. Good, hot bread. Chicken Parmesan was huge and delicious. Prime rib was cooked perfectly and delicious. Thanks for a nice Evening.
The best visit I've had here was for a party or shower, planned ahead.
It's low ceilings make it feel cramped (I'm only 5' lol). They really try to fit too many tables in. It smells dank & musty. Old building that's obviously had many leaks. Decor is not anything memorable or becoming.
We've done mother's day brunches (horrible) & Easter brunches (still horrible) & overpriced for the lack luster buffet style meals.
Some people claim they love the place but I feel the food is less than good & the atmosphere is downright yucky.
The staff is friendly, but not enough to bring us back to try again.
Server was great! Very nice young lady. We were with a group, some had good meals, my prime rib was awful, the server took it back, the replacement was even worse! They took the meal off the bill but the owner never came by our table as the server told us he would.
Food was great! Need more craft beer on tap but cajun tenderloin tips and dinner was great!! Great environment!!!! Free live music!!!
The food was excellent and so was the service. I have dined there many times and I highly recommend it.
I'll start by saying that we eat out frequently & l am used to scratch-made top notch cuisine. I've eaten in some of the best restaurants both in the U.S. & in Europe. We decided to pop in to Colony after a visit to Presque Isle. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived yet, bizarrely, we were asked if we had a reservation. I did note that a large party came in shortly after us to be seated in the back room for some sort of private event. I further noted that every customer who came in was asked if they had a reservation. One group turned around and went back out citing that the restaurant was "too fancy" for them. The hostess made no real effort to keep these customers. I'm sure the potential customers perceived, based upon the nearly empty dining room, that Colony was being discriminatory towards them. The service was pretty good except that I ordered a beef on weck & received some sort of burger with pulled beef, peppers, onions & cheese on top. The waitress noticed as soon as she put it in front of me and stated that she could take it back to the kitchen but it would likely be awhile before I would get anything else due to the large party in the back. I decided to just eat what was in front of me. The burger was good, one of the better burgers I've tasted. Sweet potato fries were also good. Luckily, the burger was way too much for me to eat as the seafood scampi my son ordered was absolute garbage & I gave him the rest of my burger. To be specific, the mussels were rubbery & could not be chewed. The rest of the meal was flavorless. We also ordered artichoke dip with crab for an appetizer. It was bitter & fishy. My son also had french onion soup which he stated was not one of the best he had. Overall, I would not return & I wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a place to pop in for a bite to eat. It's clear the owners don't really care about stop in customers & are more focused on those that reserve for events &/or catering. That being said, my recommendation is for the owners. They should close the restaurant to stop in customers and focus on the customers they actually want to servethose with large events and catering needs.
