I just got an ice cream in this place but it super and food are amazing my friends said it is bomb and I see they enjoy their food and actually they asked for Togo boxes because it was plenty of food and we did not expected that much they serve alcohol too!
The service is nice but not efficient. Food is ok. They always say “thank you, sorry” but nothing will be changed. Bad organization.
Really enjoyed the dinner. The egg rolls were perfect, the shrimp in the soup were meaty & soup flavorful, the hunan fish was so tender & delicious. The service was fast & excellent.
Delicious food. A but pricey and not very friendly but quality of food is worth it. Location convenient . Restaurant very clean. Workers all scream across restaurant in Chinese. Hard to enjoy conversation
We had a great meal at this restaurant a year or two ago, but it has gone downhill. I give it two stars because the staff was friendly and the food not bad. BUT - I ordered coffee before dinner and the cream was spoiled. The waitress came back to let me know they had no other cream. I asked for milk and she said they didn't have milk either. One of my party wanted decaf coffee and they don't carry that. He asked for decaf tea and they didn't have that either. We were all looking at each other like we were experiencing a bad dream but we carried on. On the plus side the Honey Walnut shrimp was great. On the down side the "Cashew Lovers Delight" should have been called "Hidden Cashew Dinner" - we found exactly 2 cashews in the entire dish. On the way out my wife used the ladies room and came out rolling her eyes and mentioned the floor was littered with trash. Just a poor performance in general.
The staff was attentive, the plates were attractive and the food was tasty.
Good service. Food served pretty quickly. Attentive servers.
Pretty good Chinese place. You can get authentic or Americanized, they got both. Waiter's awesome and the place is clean. Prices are good value.
This was commended by many Chinese friends I have, I was looking for dim sum but it is actually good overall Chinese food but not so much on the dim sum, if you are looking for that then must go elsewhere
Our waiter forgot to put our order in so we sat and sat until my husband asked if we could get our appetizer. The server was confused and tried to take out order againthen found it and then apologized. He brought us a comp glass of wine and then our food appeared all at once. The food was good but the service was lacking big time!
Had a chowmein and Shanghai Steamed Bun. Bun supposed to have soup in it but it's dry. Chowmein is pretty good. Had to wait 20 min for pick up. It was after the lunch rush.
A nice & real Chinese restaurant. Very close to our hotel. We were a party of 3, and ordered 3 dishes (enough). They made good shanghai dishes. Service was good too. The waiters are very warm and friendly.
Last evening I took a party of 10 people to Chun's. We have dined there many times over many years. My wife and I worked in Asia, including China, and we enjoy Chinese food. Chin's is able to seat large groups, because they have large round tables that accommodate 10 people, allowing everyone to sit together and converse as they enjoy the food. The large tables also have a rotating center allowing everyone easy access to the dishes. Unlike typical American Chinese restaurants, Chin's has a clean modern upscale decor, which adds to the dining experience. I'm an elderly man with severe arthritis and I found the chairs very comfortable.
Our party enjoyed 10 dishes, which is one advantage to dining with a large group. We were able to finish all the generous sized dishes, since we included four college students, who said they were "starving", which probably meant they had not eaten in 2 or 3 hours. Surprisingly, the boys even said they liked the vegetable dishes, which pleased their mother and grandmother. Over the years we have tried many of the different dishes and all have always been excellent. My daughter has a variety of food allergies and Chun's adjusted the dishes' ingredients for her to enjoy the meal.
On the menu, many of the dishes are displayed in pictures and the dishes we received were just as beautifully plated as they were in the pictures. That is one indication of an authentic Chinese meal, where presentation is an important part of the dining experience. I could rave about the food, but it is best to try a restaurant to see if the food pleases you. Everyone in our party raved about the food and how much they enjoyed the dinner. Chun's is a very clean restaurant and in my experience that generally reflects the kitchen and food handling. Service is another measure of a good restaurant. Our service was great. The waitresses and waiters were very attentive to all our needs and requests. As we left the restaurant several of the employees and managers thanked us and said they hoped we enjoyed our meal. Chun's is one of the best reasonably priced restaurants in San Diego and its location right at the I-15 exit on Miramar Road is very convenient.
