Cheap and decent stay in the downtown with many free public parking spots. Good restaurants in Greektown and closer to Blue line to the Loop/Airport.
Perfect location. 10 min walk to Sears tower. Surrounded by restaurants and bars. Very close to University of Illinois.
Good place to consider if planning a short stay in Chicago. Close to downtown and well connected through buses and metro. There are lots of options for food and drinks at walkable distance. 24 hour check in facility available. Free WiFi and breakfast provided. Rooms have a locker to store things like laptop, phone etc but you have to bring a small lock with you to use the locker. Helpful staff and pleasant dealing experience. Lots of sites to explore around. Don't miss the architectural river cruises- if you are in the city for a very short duration like a day or so, this is one of the must do activities which takes only an hour and half. The view of the buildings and Chicago skyline is simply amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to those looking for an affordable yet comfortable accommodation for a short stay in Chicago.
Good location by the station, but that's the best thing about it. The place looks derelict. The room had no heating, not even the infrastructure for it, so we were our coats, hats, scarves. anything we had during the winter night. It was as close to being homeless as you get, but you pay for the privilege. The bedding was dirty, with mysterious stains and hairs, and the replacements they gave us were no better (strange damp smell just no hairs -still stained). The communal showers look like a breeding ground for mold and a red fungus that you should probably not touch with your skin. There were cockroaches. Stay away
This hostel is ok. It's cheap and is located near the Willis Tower. You can easily reach downtown Chicago by foot. The staff is friendly, too and the breakfast which is included in the price is totally fine. The cutlery and coffee cups could be cleaner. It is also not very cool that it isn't possible to lock the toilet doors and that the toilets and showers are in one room. But if you only stay there at night it's ok.
One 2 showers per floor. Wifi is slow. Beds are good. Good in the centre
The rooms are roomy! The breakfast is free! The showers are very nice! The Parthenon Hostel is the whole package. Highly satisfied.
Good location and price. However, the two single bed room I booked had a couple Maintanence issues, including 2 electrical sockets with exposed wiring, the walls and ceiling are looking a little worse for wear, with some water and physical damage. The first floor women's showers did appear to have a mold issue. That said, I did enjoy my stay and would stay again.
Not very clean. Super thin walls. I couldn't sleep because of the noise from the bar three floors below. No individual control over air conditioning. Over-priced and they charge for everything. They even charged $2 to watch my bag for a couple hours. I'm glad it was only two nights.
Worst hostel ever. Unfriendly staffs and misleading room sizes from description. On top of that, they have only one Men's toilet for an entire floor. There is always a queue in front of the toilet. What an horrible experience for a group! Breakfast is so poor as well. You can get a cheap hotel with more amenities at the same price. Feeling so regretful
Best location, close to every touristic sights. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. The only thing is when we stayed there in their 8beds dorm I asked for the lower bed of the bunk beds, they promised me to have it by the night but they never made one available and i know for a fact the could since we were the very first ones to check-in.
Complimentary breakfast, helpful and accommodating staff, no frills hostel
I had a great experience there. Great location, If you don't know many places to go in Chicago, don't worry, this guest house is close to a lot of restaurants, cafe', and many more.
In addition, the place is very clean, rooms are clean with clean sheets and comfortable bed, and decent size. You also have free breakfast, and if you bring food there's a refrigerator in a reading room you can keep your food in it.
All that with advantage of affordable prices.
I really loved the place, if I needed to go back to Chicago, I will not have a second thought of booking a room there.
We got robbed!!! when we came back to our room after a long day enjoying Chicago we realized we were missing couple of personal items ( my friend's toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, four sweaters, one scarf and one hat, my hairbrush and one hat) we stayed in a shared female room, we did not use the lockers (our mistake) but we never thought this would happen! we won't come back for sure! Oh is also super noisy and zero isloation from the outside. Make yourself a favour, won't ruin your visit in Chicago staying in this place!
Friendly staff but not overly so. Bed was extremely comfortable. Free breakfast was basic but good. Room was a little bit warmer than we would have liked but it was still cooler than outside. We were right above a noisy Halsted St but most rooms do not face that way.
