Perfect place for lunch or dinner. Outside patio area is amazing with all the trees and plants. You forget that you are in the midst of Sunset Blvd. Staff is great. Food and drinks are wonderful.

It's elegant! Super vibey! 40s..yet casual Beverly Hills. This place just ooozes personality and atmosphere! The piano in the piano bar has a bar around it!!! I love it!

Beautiful grounds, architecture and elegance! You feel like you've just entered another world. A very private, swanky, classy world. The vibe is very cool! This hotel is a frequent destination for celebrities, rock stars, models, famous photographers, movers and shakers and a few regular Jane's just like me but the second your handed the brass topped tassel key fob you become a valued guest just like the elite. Your every need become the hotels command! After you drop your luggage in your extremely well stocked 1920's decor styled room, bungalow or cottage and explore the very private, secure, beautiful, lush grounds you'll pass, sit/walk/dine and relax amongst some people you'll recognize and others that you won't but just know that their "someone." You aren't allowed to take a single picture from the huge lemons in the tree that surround the oval 24 hour swimming pool to your own traveling buddy unless your either very discreet so as not to get caught or in the privacy of your own room or you risk being asked to leave the hotel and the entire staff is sworn to enforce this and trust me, they do! The large sitting room has a pianist that plays requested songs and if your lucky, occasionally a famous singer will just waltz in and begin to sing to it. They also have a turn table with many old classic LP's for you to select from after the pianist has finished his shift and the sound system is amazing! The dinner menu is limited and the food only sub par which is surprising given the clientele that frequent it. It's an interesting, decadent experience. It was on my friends bucket list and you have to indulge your friend! Go, enjoy and relax! It's quite the experience!

This is only for the restaurant on the patio. The hostess was lovely and the waiters were attentive and friendly. I had a great mule and my friend and I shared hummus and pitas which was a great snack. The waiter brought out a second serving of pitas for free.
The patio felt intimate and luxe; you can definitely imagine celebs hanging out here.response / report this review -

This place is like a palace and you will be treated like royalty.
Everything about the Chateau Marmont is first-rate.
One of the finest hotels in the world.
Sleep, eat, drink and relax.
The famous come here and your experience will make you feel like a celeb too.
Forget the five stars.
This gets ten.

The atmosphere is as great as you'd expect. Tourists, wannabe celebrities, and real celebrities alike sit closely in a quaintly outdated courtyard embraced by foliage and stoic faced servers.
I and a friend arrived at 10:45 am on Saturday with the hopes of enjoying some interesting company and delicious brunch staples. The former we got plenty of; the latter not so much.
My friend ordered the eggs benedict, in my opinion the quintessential mid century Hollywood elite brunch selection. So we thought it would be the pinnacle of benedict technology, so well polished from years of frequent service that we'd be able to see into our own mortality. But the yolks were hard, folks. That's probably the ONE thing that you expect an establishment like this to nail.
OK, fine, the cook poaching that day probably had a bad run in with the ghost of Howard Hughes or something. We'll never know.
Then there was the service. I can understand that waiting on a constant stream of supposed divas will jade even the most hardy of Butler Academy graduates, but to neglect the basic concept of asking if we want our check after 20 minutes of rooster like head twitching, trying to catch the eye of any one of the 8+ penguins shuffling around the room, is pretty mediocre.
Overall, I'd say this was one of the most disappointing $75 two person brunches I've had in my surprisingly brunch-common life.response / report this review -

The dining area is beautiful, in an outdoor courtyard full of lush vegetation, with some of the area under a canvas. This makes it a great place to enjoy balmy LA evenings al fresco. The food was consistently delicious - from the gorgeous beausoleil oysters onwards.

If you know what this place is about and you still want to eat here, then knock yourself out. I mean that literally; go knock yourself out right now. I don't know, use a hammer or something.
Seriously, I loath this place and everything it stands for. I loath every obnoxious detail, from the smarmy little gate-keeping hounds, trained to sniff out a dearth of designer labels, right up to the pretentious patrons, hungrier for recognition than they are for sub-par French cuisine. If you're pledged to the fraternity of wannabe actor douche, then put on your pin and go. Otherwise, avoid this place like the plague, or, if you can, call in an airstrike.response / report this review -

It's one of my ultimate favorite places in Los Angeles. I've never had a bad experience at Chateau. It's one of the few places in the city that has some great history and remains cool.
