My wife and I love this place. We always have the best service. They take care of everything. The bar tender Pat is a hoot! A great person also
Absolutely AMAZING and UNIQUE. This MAGNIFICENT Hotel has a PERSONALITY of its own. The STAFF is EXCEPTIONAL and each one of them DESERVE a RAISE, because their CUSTOMER SERVICE is REMARKABLE and OUTSTANDING. They make each Customer feel like they are VIP.
The room we stayed in was TINY! There was barely enough room between the corner bed post and the window ledge to squeeze through. And I am not a large person, a large person could not have gotten through. I would recommend spending your money on a much better hotel room somewhere else. The coffee was pretty good for hotel coffee. What you get for the dollars you spend, Chateau Avalon is a very bad deal.
We stayed here one night for our 9 year anniversary. Since it was a slow night they upgraded us to a bigger room for free. The man that checked me in was so helpful and nice! The woman working the night shift was nice as well. We had such a great night and I love the jacuzzi tub in the room! The room was clean and looked nice. The only thing I wish the room had was a refrigerator, I knew ahead of time that they didn’t have one so it’s not a huge deal. We just had to bring in a cooler for our drinks. That’s my only negative. Other than that we had an amazing time and will be back!
The Chateau Avalon is definitely a unique place to stay, with it's themed rooms and location that is close to Legends attractions but somewhat secluded. We just stayed one night in the Mayan themed room. The spa tub was very nice and the bed was comfortable with nice linens. The in-room breakfast had several nice choices. In general, the lodgings could use some updating. Our room needed a coat of paint in the bathroom area and the themed lighting required an extension cord running across the floor. The tree branches suspended from the ceiling needed to be dusted. Staff at check in were not very friendly, but staff in the morning (different people) were much more pleasant. Outside, the landscaping needs to be cleaned up, and it's unfortunate that the fountain only runs at night.
Mold in rooms and uncooperative staff giving me the run around about refunding the room. They gave me a different room but it is a downgrade from the moldy room.
Edited to add to this hot mess. General manager is horrible refused to refund my money for my short stay in a room filled with mold and then proceeded to tell me he called the police on me ( Gen manager wasn't even on duty last night and his staff is untrained to handle disgruntled customers) The police must have been the invisible kind cause no cops ever showed up at my room. Thought this was an Adult Hotel and yet kids were running back and forth all night long in the halls. The bartender was rude and kept telling me to shut up and it was like 8:30 pm. This place has just gone downhill since the new ownership. This much Mold is a health hazard and needs remediation and restoration I am calling the Health Department tomorrow as this is Nasty and can cause health issues! This was Castaway Isle Adventure Suite room 317.
It was amazing. The staff was really nice. They helped me track down a lost item and called after breakfast was served to ensure everything was to our liking. It was a relaxing evening with the Jacuzzi and nice soft robes. Great getaway.
We had an amazing stay. If you are a guest looking at the cosmetics of the place with a microscope, you may be in the wrong place (judging on negative reviews). But if you want a fun romantic night away this is great. We came here for our wedding night and were impressed. Romance package was nice and strawberries were delicious. Breakfast was very good, nice and hot and fresh food. Didn't visit the bar this time as our time was consumed but definitely will next time. Hemingway room was awesome!
Our stay was gifted to us as a mini honeymoon, and we were booked in the Roman Dynasty room. The room is beautiful. The staff is so friendly, the bartender was awesome.. We were also booked for a couple's massage: it was incredible! Back in the room, the jacuzzi tub takes a while to fill, and the jets were hit and miss. The wall was scuffed/dirty in one area. We got the Food & Mood package as well, and it was amazing, but my husband was disappointed that they were out of Bailey's at the time. The house champagne is terrible. The bed is huge and so comfortable. The TV doesn't have a guide, so you just flip through channels. Breakfast was hot, but inedible. Just eat out. Overall pretty pleased, but considering this was gifted to us and we weren't the ones who paid for the room, I can understand why some of the reviews aren't great..
This was our second stay, this time for our fifteenth anniversary. The Chateau never disappoints! We stayed in the Jesse James room and loved it. Spring for the bed n breakfast option and enjoy a lazy breakfast in your room. Will definitely go back!
My wife and I had a full weekend at the Chateau. The room was nice. the staff very friendly and accommodating. But being a race weekend, they jacked us for nearly $900 (Tuscany room charge only) for the two nights. And although the room was nice - really not many amenities for that price.
The spa however was VERY DISAPPOINTING. The "massage" was nothing more than a caressing - there was not an ounce of (by definition) rubbing, kneading, patting, or the like, to stimulate circulation, increase suppleness, relieve tension, etc. My three year old grand daughter caresses the same way at nap time.
Maybe that's what you get with the Swedish version - and I have to accept that. But still, it was horrible.
The inexcusable part was the extra $60 we paid for the reflexology addition. When the "massage" was complete we were both dumfounded to find out that the reflexology was included in the "massage". I swear on everything holy - My feet, nor my wife's feet, didn't feel a thing. I did explain my experience with the hotel, and I did get a call from the Spa Director. Only to be told "Sorry, I will pass that along". the end. She had nothing more to say. My advice - Stay away from the spa.
Breakfast: I had the Biscuit and Gravy with bacon and eggs. It was just okay. My wife had the Strata - barely enough to feed my three year old granddaughter.
Finally, It would have only been fair to split the room cost with the 3" dead roach that spent the weekend with us on the edge of the Jacuzzi tub.
The location was great, we felt safe, and is only a few minutes from the casino and legends outlet mall. The room we stayed in was not satisfactory for the price we paid. There was a big nasty stain on the carpet, the bottom of the bathroom door was rotting, and the overall paint condition on the walls was just bad. The pictures of the room on the website of the hot tub were nowhere near what we received either. We booked this room for a romantic evening and walked into a $15 Wal-Mart fan sitting next to the bed. The service was great and the employees were professional and welcoming. Overall, we will not go back. For the price we paid, we could stay in a MUCH nicer room for a fraction of the cost.
I really liked my room. I was in the New York Penthouse suite. The location is also good. Far enough away from people that it was quiet but still only a short drive away from Legends and entertainment. Service was good as well! Overall very good stay so far.
