We adopter our pitbull from here 12 years ago. The staff worked with us to make sure we were getting a great dog. She has been the best dog I have ever had. She is also the most protective dog I have ever seen when it comes to kids, and not just mine either. I have visited the Humane society on several occasions and the staff has always been awesome.

Very friendly staff. Everything seems humane, animals look happy. But they need a home. Please adopt animals and support here guys. We did our application to adopt kittens, we are approved. Unfortunately, the ones that we wanted were already adopted. We will visit again to see other guys. Excited :)

Nice place. I would love to adopt an animal but as soon as you enter the door they tell you not to touch the animals. There are two petting rooms with cats in them wtf. I would like to know how a dog reacts to my touch in a cage before i take it on a walk. There are a few people there that will encourage feeding and petting. Staff is very confusing about this

I have volunteered in several shelters (including this one) and adopted from several shelters (including this one). It's a nice facility, clean, and the staff and volunteers really care about the animals. They do their best to disclose what information they have about each of the animals, and try to find good matches for families looking for animal companions. They took great care of my kitty, Scarlett, until I adopted her. She had to be sent home with eye drops because she had some discharge and they were patient in showing me how to do it. I would happily adopt from CCHS again.

Had a great experience here! Very professional staff, very clean well-equipped building. I was taking a stray to them for adoptionI was very nervous about bringing him in, but they were so professional, and took care of all my questions! The cat was scanned for a microchip, and they were able to call his family that lost him 3 years ago!

My spouse and I had a horribly sad experience here. Firstly, when we arrived we were completely ignored and treated like second class citizens for not understanding how their system for looking at pets worked. I was under the impression there would be rooms dedicated to each species where the animals could roam free. Not the case. Almost every kitten/cat was in a tiny kennel that they shared with other cats. Cruel. Secondly, the concept of spaying/neutering 2 and 3 month old kittens is inhuman, especially considering the kittens are in cages regardless. We, with patience despite their attitude, applied for a female kitten that had no pending application. So we were the first ones to apply and thought it would be a slam dunk. We were so excited. We knew our prior vet would give us a great recommendation because of how clearly passionate we are about our pets. So three days go by and I have my fiancé call to check up on things. Turns out she was somehow already adopted by some else who "already had an approved application for a different cat". Honestly, I'm disgusted. How could an organization who claims to only want the best for these animals be so cruel and cold. I advise you all to visit a more local, smaller shelter that actually cares for animals, not just money.
