I have not found a better pint of Guinness anywhere! Sure the food, ambience, and staff are great, but the Guinness is perfection.

Best fish and chips by a long shot. The fish is tender on the inside and golden brown on the outside. The chips are so crispy and the Coleslaw was delicious. Would recommend to anyone visiting Punta Gorda.

Old Irish pub feel. Run by people who have lived and worked in Ireland, so it has that authentic flavor and feel. Great food, good atmosphere, & the best Irish pub I have visited outside of Ireland. Great place.
Update: place is still awesome, the kitchen was recently remodeled & the food and atmosphere are great. Live music, good food & good beer what's not to love. One of the best places to go in all of SWFL.

This a fine place to meet and greet folks as well as dine on Irish fare. Laid back yet vital with live entertainment. Quite the pub. I doubt you will forget your visit here.

Though everyone has different expectations I have always been nicely satisfied after eating any of their entrees.

In particular their fish & chips are exceptional and of fine proportions.

Personally I do not find the food expensive. It costs more than junk food but that should be expected since the ingredients are first order.

Best Irish pub this side of Ireland. Just cannot stress how great this place is. Food is wonderful, servers great and the atmosphere makes you forget your not in Ireland. Well, that last one could be the Guinness. 😆

This is one amazing restaurant. It is totally decorated at the Celtic Style. And it is full of history in the form of decorations on the walls. Now the food is so good. There is also a great variety of beers and the prices are medium range. I had lunch there and was told that in weekends there is alive music. Make sure to visit this place when you visit Punta Gorda. The staff is friendly and you would make friends - Viva the Irish!

I love this Irish Public House 🏡 Awesome Fish and Chips and Scotch Eggs too. The ambience is perfect and their outdoor seating is glider booth tables and I love anything that I can swing or glide in. They also introduced me to an exceptionally tasty Hard Pear 🍐 Cider from Ireland called Magner's on tap even better than bottled. Go here for a fun lunch and or even dinner. The staff and the proprietors are excellent here

I love this place and have been there many times before. However if there's a band playing, why not make it so you can actually NOT loose your voice trying to yell your conversation to the person sitting 2 feet away from you. I use power tools and angle grinders every day and even I thought the sound level was insane. I don't think they could have turned it up any louder if they tried. Just because the band members are deaf, doesn't mean the staff shouldn't do anything about it.

I love the Ray.I have been to the pub more times then I can count since it opened and even more since I turned 21. It can be busy a lot but what can you do when the food, drinks and staff are all outstanding. The Ray is literally the only Irish pub I've ever been to that actually serves a perfect pint of Guinness every single time no matter the bartender, and I've been up north were "most" people say the pubs are better. Thank you Mr. Doyle for building this gem in my hometown! I look forward to my next visit as always!
