Excellent food and good service. The chicken & waffles are amazing. The sides I've tried so far have been great.

Very good food and great atmosphere. Service is usually on par, sometimes better than expected, but it is a real relaxed place. Go hungry and leave stuffed to the point of bursting.

Carmi's catered our union picnic this past summer. I could go on for days about their food. Upon delivery, food was fresh and hot. The fried chicken crisp and tender, pulled pork saucy, and all the sides and fixings were on point, especially the mac n' cheese, which you wanna eat by the fistful
and we almost did, because on the day of the picnic, there were no plates, plastic or serving ware and it was ALL MY FAULT!

Between a demanding life and work schedule I had forgotten that I'd agreed to provide those items myself. Instead of leaving me with a small riot on my hands, Carleen (who I had coordinated the catering with and made the food delivery) didn't have another event immediately scheduled, and so offered to go and pick up these crucial missing items from the nearest store. Under no obligation, she took time out of her day to help our event, and the fee for this extra assist was beyond reasonable.

I cannot thank the folks at Carmi's enough, for their incredible smorgasbord of soul food and the service that was above and beyond. Thank you!

I've been coming here since they opened. They're hardly ever consistent anymore with the quality of the food. Better customer service is needed. I think I'm officially done giving them my business.

Delicious southern food. If you ever had food in the south, you know that this is the real deal. It tastes like home made and the corn bread is amazing. The gravy is also very good

Service was perfect. The pork chops and greens were good. Smothered is the way to go on the chops. The candied yams were great. And the fish stew was all I dreamed it would be.

What a great restaurant. I had fried chicken, fish stew, greens and cornbread. All were delicious. The server was extremely nice and hospitable. For ten bucks I had as close as it gets to home cooking and had difficulty walking my fat ##s back to work. Thanks!

I would've loved to have given this place five stars, but I just couldn't. By no means do I have an expectation for five star dining, but just a few points of contention.

First, let me say that the food is great; that cannot be denied. My daughter and I had the chicken and waffles (the kids comes with chicken fingers). My chicken was delicious; a little small, but tasty nonetheless. I also tried the green beans and sweet potatoes; they were both fantastic. The waffle was a little undercooked and chewy. I wish it had been a little crisper on the outside.

The food is fresh, and seems to be made to order, which is a great way to guarantee optimal quality. However, do NOT go starving, because you'll be waiting at least 20-40 minutes. It's understandable, but they might consider offering something to the customer while they wait. Even priced appetizers would be helpful. I've read that they've offered samples to a few patrons, but it doesn't appear to be consistent.

Our waitress was Keisha, and she was nice. She didn't update us on our meal, but she was attentive enough.

I went on a Wednesday around 5:30pm; the restaurant had about six people seated, so the vast majority of the tables were empty. The sign stated we had to wait to be seated, but that wait took longer than usual since the only person that could seat us was on the phone with a takeout order. That's well and good, and I understand multitasking, but he didn't apologize for the wait either.

I asked to be seated at a larger booth due mostly to height, and maneuverability with a six year old, and was told that those tables were for parties of 3 or more. Now, I understand having a policy such as that, especially during dinner rushes, but we waited ten minutes to be seated, and the restaurant was fairly empty, so giving into that small of a request would've been a great way to rectify any initial misgivings. Just food for thought.

All in all, the food was great, and I'll visit again to see how the service is next time. If you haven't been, you definitely should.

Went there last night after my buddy suggested it. The food there is amazing, it's because everything is prepared to order! Our wait was was longer than usual due to a mix up but it was really worth it. The service is great, they brought out free samples for enduring the unusually long wait. Staff is very friendly. Definitely worth going back again.

What a cozy place to take in all your soul food favorites. After hearing those around me rave about their food I had to visit. After taking in healthy portions of food, I quickly realized it's their delicious sides that take cake. Servers are very nice but delivery of food to the table is slow. Their prices are no more expensive than going to a chain restaurant where you leave disappointed and hungry. Portion sizes here will make you feel a lot more satisfied. I will definitely be returning to try more delicious food.
