Awesome down to earth atomosphere. Great fried chicken and pot roast. Gotta get it early before they run out!
The pork tenderloin sandwich is good. Many people come for the coleslaw however I am not a fan so I cannot speak to that. The service was decent but the atmosphere was lacking. I would not call this place romantic in the slightest but if you want something simple with the family that doesn't break the bank, consider this place; especially if you've never been before.
This restaurant is a mixed bag, personally the meal I got (a burger, fries, coleslaw, and onion rings) was sub par compared to a burger place like five guy's or even Wendy's. On the other hand, the bread they serve as an appetizer was very literally the best bread I've ever had! (that was what earned a four star) the coleslaw was also extremely good. The chicken there far oushined my food and is better than anything shy of home made. To conclude though, the staff is great, the price is acceptable, and if I were in the area I would go here again.
One hour wait, finally seated. Snippy waitress who decided to get another to wait on us, we were a party of eight, another hour passed still no food. Watched other tables seated and fed. Finally gave up and left. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! No turkey. Food came as we were leaving so my daughter talked to manager after I (diabetic) left. She apologized and gave her some food to go. My daughter still gave a nice tip (New waitress was okay). Sorry for the lengthy review but my sugar level dropped.
Set your watch back 30 or 40 years and step back to simpler times of good food, good service, and good value. I chose the broasted whitefish special for my first visit. The slaw was a little too sweet, but fresh and not strong like many slaws are. Scalloped potatoes were good. Whitefish was a little salty but very good overall. Service was awesome.
Was very busy. Had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated. Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was good also.
My breakfast steak ordered med. well was cooked to leather and served cool. Meal was floating in grease on the plate. My toast was good though.
My wife's meal was served luke warm and had to be re-heated. Dissapoinment. Won't return.
A continuing ,a place dating from the 50's in Enon , Oh to. The 60's after opening in Park Layne. diner has served a rual area and has recently remodeled due to Tornado Damage .Good food , a home like diner at a fair price .The Chicken and Cole Slaw are the best not to mention the daily baked items .
We (9) of my family went there for our quarterly family dinner. I have been there many times but most of the rest of them had not. Everyone loved the food. This was the first time for me since the tornado and the repairs. I can't say enough about how good everything is and how you need to try this place if you have never been there.
Today I had lunch at the Melody, for the first-time I am disappointed in the service. Not the food itself. Once seated we received our bread basket and butter the problem was we had to use our napkins for our bread as we waited for our food. As usual our chicken was excellent. Problem 2 was we didn't receive any refills. I admit it was busy. I just felt our waitress was overwhelmed. I guess theres a first time for everything. Rating would have been 5 stars had service been better.
Great home cooked meals. Always busy but always prompt service.
Love that place there.coleslaw is wonderful. And I love there food. The people there is very nice.I don't have one bad thing to say about the Melody.
