Pros. New bathrooms, nice linens, helpful staff, great location
Cons. Limited parking, threadbare rooms, limited breakfast. ( but great coffee)

Highlights: 1. Excellent location: a short walk from the beach and in the midst of restaurants, bars, beautiful boutiques and stores. 2. Decent rate: compared to other hotels/inns around Carmel-by-the-sea, Village Inn had very decent rate and included all facilities - 24-hour reception, complimentary breakfast, parking (limited) on-site, full bathroom and huge room. 3. 17-mile drive: starts a short drive away from the property.

Fantastic location. Walk to the beach, shops and dining. Rooms were clean, bathrooms recently updated. Very comfortable 1 night stay.

This hotel is easy to find just off the main street and minutes from the highway. The anticipated weather forecast was rain so we weren't worried to much about the location as long as it was in Carmel. The hotel is easy walking distance to everything (stores and restaurants) and a very short walk to the beach. The room was small with a firm king size bed. The bathroom was updated and fresh/clean. There was also a free breakfast available. We had a pleasant overnight stay. The facility was consistent with many of the positive reviews. We didn't experience any problems.

Got a good price on the room. Really great location. Clean room with updated bathroom. Big breakfast table with mostly carb options but good coffee. There's a cozy place by the fireplace in the lobby. Ice machine broken. Bed was OK.

This was a very good Inn with amazing breakfast!! The rooms were super clean and new, free parking available and the breakfast was included. They served tea/coffee, orange juice and water and there were freshly prepares waffles, muffins, fresh cut fruit, toast and oats. Short walks to restaurants and wine tasting rooms. Lovely place!!!
