Cheaper price, only some stuff in the rooms were updated. There is no air-conditioning, and no real breakfast. They only had dried oats, bagels, and cereal. It is in a great location though and it's easy to walk to Ocean Drive. I would probably stay here again, depending on prices of other places.
Good value. Good location. My room was pretty hot though, might need to get maintenance to check room 122
Would not recommend this place at all. The room was filthy, windows don't latch properly and walls dirty with holes. Only thing positive was the bed and sheets were clean. Not representative of lovely Carmel. No pride of ownership at this place, clearly.
Although a little dated, very quaint and charming. Nice breakfast and goid value for money.
Eight months before "Monterey Car Week" I made reservations for my son and I to have a Father/Son experience and stay at the Carmel Wayfarer Inn. Two hours (and 670 miles) before we were to get to Carmel I got a notice that my reservation for 5 days was canceled because the room was double booked. I made my reservations 8 months in advance.
I would be very cautious making a reservation with Carmel Wayfarer Inn. You might not have a room.
Carmel Wayfarer Inn cost me another $1,000.00. But we did get a room at Carmel Lodge. Rooms were clean, staff was great and plenty of big parking spaces. This Hotel is closer to Ocean Ave. too.
Restroom window's lock is broken. Could'nt sleep peacefully. When complained to reception they said nothing can be done will look at it tomorrow which they never did. Breakfast was adequate.
5 stars?! More like 5 BILLION stars! Quaint B&B. The owners are very kind and helpful. They helped us with our luggage last time we stayed (and we had a LOT). The breakfast is always delicious and very warm, welcoming atmosphere. There is a wide variety of room types and they are very inviting. On top of all this top notch service, the prices are extremely reasonable! I recommend this place to everyone visiting this area. Best choice in the area, hands down.
The rooms are beautiful very charming and large have stayed several times and eacj room has been different and perfect
It's inexpensive hotel, with reasonably friendly staff, although there is a draconian rule forbidding cell phones at breakfast. The place is pretty run down, but it's tough to worry about that sort of thing in the relaxed atmosphere of Carmel. Your basic needs are catered for but in the absence of luxury. I'd happily stay there again.
It's a place to stay in Carmel, within walking distance to Ocean Ave and the oceanfront. If it was more economical, I could overlook (1) the electrical outlets so worn that your charger will not stay plugged in, (2) windows with broken hardware that will not completely close, and (3) the broken heater in the bathroom. At nearly $400 for a Saturday night during the prime season, however, I would urge potential guests to reconsider.
The front desk person who I checked in with was very cranky and complained that I had dogs with me. Excessively.
Guess what? The only reason I booked your hotel is that it sai dog friendly And I paid 70 dollars! (35 per dog).
I was pretty displeased with the room as well. I felt ripped off for the price we paid.
Really only leaving 2 stars because I was able to book less than a week out and other than listening to the front desk lady complain for a couple minutes, it was easy to check in and out.
