Our reservation made in March for a late December stay was canceled 2 months prior to the stay due to renovations that "suddenly" came up. Notification of the cancelation was sent via email with no alternative solution or apology. The email sent said "unfortunately we will be undergoing a renovation during your reserved dates and will not be able to accommodate you." Our plane tickets were already booked and the purpose of our stay was to attend a wedding so the location of the hotel within proximity of the wedding party was very important. All other hotels in the area were completely booked. Management at the resort lacked empathy and were unaccommodating. One of the managers even pulled the "well, you wouldn't believe what I'm going through right now". The best they could offer us was to stay off the island at a sister property. We had to spend another 2 weeks trying to find alternative accommodations on our own, which of course was very stressful and resulted in spending more money. Absolutely horrible customer service and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I wouldn't even give it one-star, but I had to in order to post this review.

My husband was hesistant on this place bc we always stay at big name property. Once we arrived to our room it was a little tight, but enough for a couple. Once we left our room everything was close by. The private beach is awesome and groceries/bar close by. Best stay. Siesta Key is Paradise. Definitely coming back!

This place isn't bad, but it isn't great. We got a room with a bedroom and then living room
With pull out sofa. I think the bed was comfortable, but the pull out sofa was not comfortable at all. It was a short walk to the beach, but you can't really see the beach from
The hotel. Like I said, this place wasn't awful, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Just returned from Labor Day weekend at Captiva. Fantastic! Completely remodeled spotless older accomodation nestled among palm trees interspersed with 6 or 7 other Mom and Pop places on the beach side . Front staff was professional and cordial. Hardest working cleaning crew ever! Great old fashioned Florida beach experience.

I gave Captiva Beach Resort a 5 star. I have stayed here and just also gone by and visited and the staff particularly "The big Show" always has a smile and always treats you the happy friendly positive same. I am 36 years old, crazy partier, professional blue collar career, new york city bizzing and Hampton suburbs chin up raised individual so i know fun and classy. But being VERY PICKY PERSON and sometimes hard to please due to my obsessions of being a germaphobe and OCDlolbut Captiva Beach Resort was honestly a fantastic, friendly, quiet, relaxing, clean, steal getaway vacation spot with an awesome beach location and even better rates for what and where it is. Its NOT the PARTY SPOT, its a family or meaningful quality time kind of spot. It's less than 5 minutes to the best beach in the USA walking slow and its the private section of Siesta Key beach meaning that you will always find a good spot on the sand. Also, all the high energy, social life, night life, restaurants are only about 10mins or so driving in a different part of town. I hope this really helps some of you out there searching for great place to stay while Siesta Key, Also if you look on Google Maps this is one of the top 3-5 closest to the water. If you have kids or want important quality time on Siesta Key Beach then look no further, Captiva Beach Resort is your place.

The staff at the resort was very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but updated, clean, and had everything we needed including a small kitchen with 2 burner cook top, small fridge, microwave and toaster. Nice courtyard outside with chairs to lay out in, tables, and a grill to use if you want. The pool is just across the street and is shared by some of the other small resorts but never really seemed crowded. Just a very short walk to a beautiful powder soft white sand beach. Would stay here again.

I shouldn't give this place good reviews so it stays as one of my secrets. This place and area are awesome. Definitely coming back.

Some rooms where very nice but we got stuffed in to a single room of about 150 SQ feet with a bathroom you couldn't even turn around in. Sitting on the toilet put your shoulders squished between the sink and the wall and your knees against the wall. The bed was on wheels and flowed almost freely around the room if you moved. It also sloped badly at the edges making it feel like you're going to fall off the sides. The rooms overall was very dirty and dingy and not worth $50 per night. I would avoid.

The hotel was supposed to be updated And it wasn't. A bad experience overall. Thank goodness the bride and groom were gorgeous.

The staff at the Captiva made this review a 5 star for sure. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We stayed there to escape Hurricane Matthew. The room(14) was beautiful, bathroom was amazing. AC works great! Only a few minor annoyances, the curtains weren't black out curtains and the lights outside kind of made the room not as dark as I would have liked. The bathroom door brushed the floor slightly and the front door closed a little rough. All and all this was a wonderful stay, their private beach is to die for. I will be booking here on a real vacation sometime soon for sure!
