We were wowed. There is a wait even off-season and with good reason. We had a drink at the bar and found the people there to be engaging. We got tips on what to do and where to go. Their chowder may be the best anywhere. It is that good! Their fish and chips portion is huge and their Parker's Sample is not to be missed. Great service and will go back here whenever we're in the Cape. It is a good place for both food and atmosphere.
FANTASTIC!! Super fast and friendly service. The Ivan sandwich was absolutely delicious and the Captain's Bloody Mary was out of this world!!!! Not to mention the world famous chowder. Highly recommended 👍👍👍
• Service is fast and attentive
• We went about a few hours before closing on a weekend evening in November and there was still a 10-20 minute wait for a table.
• Plenty of parking on their lot.
• Full bar
• Choice of sitting by the bar or in their dining area
• Decent list of craft, domestic and imported beers. They were all out of their craft beers when we visited.
• They provide free bread when you are seated. Bread is served hot with butter on the side.
A great place for food and atmosphere. Best chowder and chili on the Cape!!! Staff always remembers you. Great local flavor. Scottie the best server on the Cape.
The clam chowder was outstanding. The prime rib was good the squash was awesome in the spuds were delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anybody on vacation that's looking for good clam chowder.
We've been going to Captain Parker's for 25 years. It's still a good spot for drinks with its quaint interior, the outdoor bar, and some food dishes. Their servers and bartenders are mostly very good. But we've seen prices rise during each tourist season while overall quality has dropped. Too many items on the menu don't show a price and instead say 'market.' That may be ok for things like clams and scallops which can fluctuate, but not oysters (which are farmed nearby) and certainly not for prime rib! Since when is the US beef supply uncertain?? Market price is merely a device to charge as much as possible when the season allows and to gouge diners. That's a lousy tactic for a place that makes enough money as it is and who's food quality and execution is not what it used to be. Clean up your act, Captain Jerry.
Best chowder on the Cape. Great seafood options, along with standard pub fare. Kid friendly too. The food is really good, as is the atmosphere, but it's always busy, so expect to wait for a table, no matter when you go (avg wait is usually 35-45 minutes, but can go longer at dinner time).
Everything was excellent. Well worth trying if you have never been. Their Clam Chowder is out of this world. I like it so much I would say that it is the best Clam Chowder I have ever had and I have had tried many many different Clam Chowders all over the US in the last 40 years of my life.
The best clam chowder I have ever tasted!!!!! The food is excellent! I had a lobster and seafood fettuccinni, it was also the best I have ever tasted! My husband and I shared the the pasta and there was so much seafood we both had more than enough. I can't eat the whole things by myself because there so much seafood. I have One word for the food, #AMAZING! I will definitely go there every time I come to the cape!
Great food and atmosphere. Never had a meal I didn't like. For summer the outside seating and bar are awesome!
This is a nice restaurant. My mom really loves their fish. They offer fish breaded with cornflakes (I think) that is crunchy and tasty. A little touristy, but it is a classic Cape Cod restaurant, so I would (and do) recommend it!
Great food and great service. Fast and delicious. Friendly bar to wait for table. Gorgeous location. Leslie is wonderful.
My boyfriend and I went here while on vacation. After a 30 minute wait, we were seated. Then, four different couples came AFTER us and were seated in a different waitresses section. 15 minutes in, we noticed they all had their drinks, bread and orders placed and we had not even seen our waitress yet. When she finally appeared, she took our order. All of the other couples were enjoying their meals when the waitress came over and said that she had lost our order. We placed it AGAIN and watched the other couples pay their check and leave. After another 20 minutes, the meal finally arrived and it was cold. I was so angry I told her to put it right into a takeout box and explained why I was so upset. No "I'm sorry" or offer to make it right. nothing! So out I walked, 2 hours and $75 later with a soggy takeout box!
Great atmosphere, service and food.
We sat at the bar and I ordered the stuffed quahog, a cup of chowder and a Bloody Mary. My husband had a bowl of chowder and a beer. The chowder is very thick and full of flavor and clams. It arrived fast and hot! The quahog was also packed with a flavor, smokey sausage flavor and arrived hot(all the way to the center) Both were delicious. The Bloody Mary was made spicy to order an really hit the spot!
I absolutely love a casual "dive-like" bar with a good mix of locals and tourists. It's the kind of place that will remember us and our drink order the next time we go in.
