While everyone was very nice and welcoming, I wasn't aware that this was mainly an African-American salon, so I instantly felt a bit out of place but I needed my hair done. My stylist was friendly but didn't really communicate with me. He colored my hair while it was wet and didn't section it, just slapping color on and trying to saturate. It's common knowledge that you shouldn't color WET hair and you need to section it to cover the whole head in color. So I still have pieces of red throughout my hair and my color is black opposed to the chocolate brown I picked. He also left a blank band of color around my forehead by the drying cap he used. He figured he could cover it with my straight across bangs, which he cut too short and cut my side pieces of hair in chops so now I have side burns that weren't there before. He also "trimmed" my hair but didn't angle or use hair cutting techniques. He just took scissors and cut pieces of my hair off. Also $130 for single process color?! Even a high class salon only charges $65-75 for SPC. That price was ridiculous! If you aren't prepared for Causasian hair then please kindly let us know before we sit in your chair, not just keep us there to take money from people.

I enjoy going to CaPauls. It is beautifully decorated and the stylists are all very nice. Yukita is my stylist and she does a great job with natural hair care. There is very limited street parking so bring extra money for valet It's the only other option. It is not validated but hey, That's downtown for you
