People actually know how to cut hair here. I never knew the difference between a great clips haircut and a real haircut until I came here. Oh, and if you have Asian hair (like my wife), they know how to properly cut that too.

This is my first time at this hair salon and I just had one of the best hair cuts I've ever had. The staff is super friendly and will give you the haircut you want. Nevien was meticulous about my haircut, saying she is a perfectionist, and she did an amazing job.
It's hard to find a hair salon that has a large focus on men's hair products and men's hair cuts. I am so happy that I came here today.
I have medium length hair, and the cut was about $38, very much worth the price. I recommend this to any guy looking for a quality hair salon.response / report this review -

It took me a while to find a hair salon that I could trust with my hair after some disastrous haircuts! Helmet has been the answer to my prayers! Whether it is layered haircuts or coloring they have the experts! Katelyn has been my stylist here and she is a magician! Highly highly recommend her and this salon! Go check it out!

First haircut in Atlanta. I needed my hair cut for a few events and I had no trouble getting in here after work. A bit more than I'm used to paying (from WI) but I'm now in a city. Very nice referral system they have going on as well.
Nevien (so sorry if I misspell!) was super accommodating and took the time to answer any styling questions, and really wanted me to love my cut. Looks great, now I'm ready to kill it.

My hair still looks stunning after visiting Helmet for the first time about a month ago. I used the Groupon Promo and was slightly apprehensive doing so. The deal honestly seemed too good to be true (I figured there was some catch hidden in the disclaimer) - but this was not the case at all. Rachel was my stylist and she did an amazing job - provided me with top notch service, kept me laughing the whole time with great conversation, and had me leaving there feeling like I had just gotten a makeover 💋. I got partial highlights, cut, shampoo, style, and added some conditioning upgrade since I only paid about $36 for the services. 😊
I only got about 1.5" off but my hair looked (and felt) better than it ever had. Helmet was even nice enough to accommodate my last minute appointment and I learned that Rachel offered to stay late to do my hair. I am certainly glad she did! I already made my next appointment since they offered a discounted rate for booking your next appointment when you checked out.
The entire staff went above and beyond to provide ecceptional service. The atmosphere also added a truly unique touch. I don't know of many trendy salons are situated in an 100+year old home right off of Piedmont. Did I mention they also had parking right out front! And this is for a place thats near the very busy (and trendy) corner of 10th and Piedmont.
If you want to save $20 mention my name when you are making your appointment/checking out and they should hook you up. Hope your hair turns out as great as mine did.

I wanted to purchase a Groupon for this salon , but I was worried I might not get treated the same as a full paying customer. I was so relieved when I called to make an appointment and spoke to Andrea on the phone! She was so awesome! Andrea took the time to listen to what I wanted even though I could tell they were very busy and she explained to me up front that we may have to do some things outside of the Groupon because of boxed color I previously put on my hair. She made sure I understood everything and made time before the appointment for me to have a consultation. I'm so excited to go in now! The level of customer service that she showed me was definitely above and beyond. Thanks Andrea!

I don't write many reviews but Neivin is deserving of one. I get my color retouch done every 3-4 weeks and have had a hard time finding a stylist that understands the difficulties of covering grays. So many times I've gone home after getting this done at other salons and see that my grays were still there. I don't have the time to go back twice in the same week because the job wasn't done right the first time. Neivin is great at this. She is able to apply the color quickly and is extremely thorough at making sure it is completely covered and processes long enough. I would highly recommend her if you are looking for a stylist that understands the difference when it comes to getting rid of grays!

Helmet is literally down the street for me and I decided to give it a try after seeing a Living Social/Groupon available. I walked in and was instantly amazed at the size, cleanliness, and professionalism. I forget who I had my cut with (but I am going back to her next month!) She took the time to get to know my hair, how it falls, how I style and cut it to my desires. I absolutely love this salon!
