Best burger I've had outside of In N Out! Stayed for a few hours but made the weekend Happy Hour at the cantina. So good! Great place to hang out, play in the water or sit under the shade at the picnic benches. Dog friendly, too!

Campland On The Bay is a great family friendly campground. This place has water and electricity located on the camp lots. Their are multiple locations throughout the campground that have bathrooms and nice showers. They have a cantina for food and drinks as well as a convenience store and a gift shop. Their is a beach and a marina where you can swim and rent almost anything you want. I will definitely come back to this campground again.

If you're looking for something peaceful and quiet , midweek is your only option. We have an eight year old son and there's plenty to do Friday through Sunday. My parents would not like this place because there's too much action. The spaces are small but usable. Restrooms are clean and abundant and showers are well-lit and water is always hot. Never had to wait for a shower. Very friendly staff. The new Cantina is a welcome addition however early on staff needed service experience and bar education. The restaurant is more like a glorified snack bar, which is fine with us as we are not looking for fine dining at an RV park. Guests staying at the park are mostly fun seeking nice people with the occasional questionable character. Lots of rules to follow according to the guidelines, most of which are Loosely followed. Many reviews compare this side too Newport Dunes which we travel to recently. Considering we are not retired and have an eight year old son we will take Campland over Newport Dunes any day.

Some of the facilities are a lil old, they're slowly but surely getting getting revamped. Great family get away at a reasonable price. Lots of activities available for various ages. Yearly retreat for our family, we love it!

I go here every year with my family for the boat races. It's always fun! Everyone is super nice. I was really impressed with how clean the bathrooms were, and the park as a whole. Definitely coming back next year! :)

Location was great, and staff was prompt. Lots of adminities available. When they say that they are pet-friendly they do mean this, expect lots of barking from Neighbors. Staff does not seem to be too concerned about excessive barking from unattended animals. This is also a very much party atmosphere. If you are looking for a quiet relaxed at-the-beach stay, this is not the site for you.

Great little escape from the city of you don't have time to travel far. Need to make reservations way in advance. Not much space between camp sites unless you're able to get a nice green belt by the pool area or by the bay. Lots amenities for the kids.

Campsite is not close to the beach, campsites are both small and expensive, very few trees, and usually has a large, frequently obnoxious population. We had at least three nearby campsites blasting music throughout the day. Parking is not restricted so during the day there are usually cars parked along the paths making navigation difficult. Water at the campsites has a white tint to it.

On the bright side, the ground is clear, the store is nice, showers have unlimited free warm water, and each campsite has electricity, so that's alright. I didn't go to the pool, but my family seemed to enjoy the hot tubs there.

We prefer staying at state or national parks, and have only been to one other RV "resort." Compared to the other place, I consider this one much nicer because there are some spots with trees, grass, and a little space. The other place was nearly a straight parking lot of RVs.
Like the other RV resort, there are pools, a dock, a store (with a crazy mark -up, of course), a beach, dog parks, a gated kids playground, and a calendar of events.

Great for RVs but wouldn't recommend posting up tents. We stayed 3 days in a tent and there was no grass it would be nice if they had a specific area for people with tents only that included more of the grassy areas. we basically slept in mud and a concrete slab. Area is otherwise beautiful and a great way to save money if visiting San Diego.

We stayed in July 2016 for 2 nights with our 25ft RV (before we were here about 20 y ago). Clean Place, maybe a lit bit noisy because of all the kids, that`s fine for us (with 3 kids with ourselves). Free bus trip to sea world, you can swim in the bay, price was absolutely alright. We stayed one night at another RV site in SD, but Campland on the bay was the much better place. Evening show time/cinema at the stage. We`ve no reason to give less than 5 stars.

We come here every year during the boat races on Mission Bay (September). There are lots of families here and it's very family oriented. There are tons of kids on bicycles and skateboards and razors. People bring their tricked out golf carts here. Some have lights all over them or have stereos playing. It's a very festive atmosphere. A majority of the bicycles have lights all over them and the kids like to ride them all lit up at night. Saturday night on that weekend, a live band plays on the outdoor stage so families are set up around the stage and kids on lighted bikes and tricked out golf carts are buzzing around. There's an ice cream parlor by the stage and families are eating ice cream and having a good time. There's a peninsula there where people will set up their chairs during the day to watch the race boats. There's a small beach where people will lay out and sunbathe or play on the beach. The campgrounds are in town do you can leave Campland and explore the local restaurants or shop or go hang out at the pier or nearby strand. Highly recommended.

Great family Campground! I've been going here every summer for 7 or 8 years now, and we always have a blast here. They have allot of amenities to offer as well as being in town, and on the bay. They have multiple pools and hot tubs, convenience store, and restaurant. We bring our bikes, and golf carts to ride around and mingle with all the other fun people there!
