There are several issues I have had with this dealership.
1. I am concerned about he safety of a brand new 2017 Thor Motor Elite 23H I purchased and believe it to be a Lemon. Just looking at the craftsmanship of the work behind the microwave was frightening. Several things were left completely unassembled such as the mounting brackets for the microwave and the entire power assembly to one side of the coach. The microwave was literally falling out while driving because there were no mounting brackets. An Entire electrical system was left unconnectedOoops!
2. I feel there was a complete lack of urgency and complacency in things being the way they were. The service department made it seem like it is normal for a brand new RV to have several issues and be in the shop for months. There was no sense of urgency such as rushing parts. The power awning wasnt working and they said "oh this model has problems" you may have to have a 10 foot ladder and manually bring it down. Who takes a 10 foot ladder with them everywhere?
3. I have spent the last 6 months making payments on my loan and paying for insurance on a vehicle that hasn’t been ready. Half of the Manufacture Warranty is up just to fix issues identified on a couple short trips. Thor customer service even told me that 18 problems is normal. Granted a Supervisor who finally reached me after lodging a complaint told me that representative was wrong but I am still waiting for a resolution nearly a week later.
4. I spent a little less than $800 on the Spray protectant that was suppose to applied to the RV that had paper work that said it was done on the day of purchase and it was actually never done. Initially I was told it was done, and after I proved that it in fact never was. I informed Amanda that I wanted it held off on because I am looking at pursuing my options.
5. I was charged $2000 to make sure everything in the RV was working and resolve any safety concerns for sitting in the lot. It is clear that was never done because outlets were never tested, power in certain places weren’t working and the Microwave was falling out. As I understand it some of your employees believe that because I asked if it could be ready by Mother’s Day I spent $2,000 for a service I didn’t really want. When in fact I was told everything was done except that spray to protect the RV from UV rays and spills inside the coach. Even the General Manager seems to share this view which is unreasonable and illogical. I feel like I was scammed paying for a service that was never done.
6. I told my sales representative that it was an important feature for my son be able to watch the TV while driving, something I was assured could be done provided the generator was running. It wasn’t until about 2-3 months later that I was told that this can’t be done despite earlier being told that I should be able to from the sales rep and initially the service advisors.
These are the biggest issues and I am still waiting for a resolution near Thanksgiving. By the way, hard to take a cross country trip in the Winter?
Things To Know-If you buy an RV at CAMPING WORLD and are traveling across the country and you have serious problems, despite having a warranty you may have to wait months for a repair and will be responsible for hotels and housing costs until it is fixed. It has taken me 6 months and my issues still are not resolved. The dealership told me that repairs would take longer had I not bought the RV there. That is scary! The photos are of the area behind the microwave that was falling out. No support brackets. It was only a couple of screws that was holding it in at the time.
I needed to complain to management after 2.5 weeks and 4 messages were left before the parts department finally called me back. The price quotes from the service department were from the month before sales and unavailable at the time of purchase surprising me with costs I didn't budget for. Most employees will ignore me when I enter the service department and I can wait over 1/2 hour before anyone will ask if I need help. And after that, I can wait another 45 minutes before being helped even if I am the only customer. There is no place to sit and wait to be the next person getting service work. Any place you stand is in their way and you can be made to feel uncomfortable while they get their Monsters and coffees and cary on personal conversations. The service department is understaffed and wait times for service are well over a month, even for high priorities such as illegal health risks such as leaking sewage. The service department changed my grey and black lines so I can't dump my grey tank independently of the black. This is a major inconvenience since my grey fills up many times faster than the black. I talked someone into letting me water their landscaping with my organic products in my grey only to watch in horror as untreated feces came flying out! I complained but there was no management call back or attempt at making things right when I left a message. Parking is too tight! They have filled their parking with high priced new RVs and trailers for sale. In addition, the city of Santa Clarita won't allow staying in one's own Motor Home even if a full-timer getting "emergency repairs". And I don't understand why they bother advertising free Wi-Fi in the waiting room when it is so slow that I run through my device's batteries before ever getting online. If there was another Good Sam Motor Home location I could afford to drive to near me, I would never return to this location.
Big parts store. Very nice staff and helpful. The nicest Camping World we have been to!
I've tried for a week to get hold of anyone in the service dept to install a Camper World Observation System. No one answers the phone, no one answers the voice messages left and no one calls from the online appointment request system. I'm guessing they are short handed or on vacation but I'm being nice. I think they just don't care and must have enough business!!!
Friendly staff. Service is good. Prices are fair. Selection is not as good as I expected.
I bought a 2018 Bullet 21 foot trailer from Jeff Dixon he gave us the best deal. He was very professional . We love Camping World and our sales experience was the best . We shopped many different dealers . This was the best service from the managers and the staff. They took there time and helped us with all of our needs. We drove very far and we are glad we did. See you at the beach. Thank you Jeff . Scott . and Tony your the BEST ; }
We bought a 2018 Heartland Pioneer here this summer and the only positive thing about our experience was Nick our sales guy. Tony in finance was very nice up until we declined the extra warranty. We told him no several times because we have the factory warranty and full coverage insurance. He had my husband alone at one point and bullied him into the extra warranty that bumped our payment up $20/month. He even had the guts to ask me after the paperwork had been signed, "are you mad at me?". After that fiasco, we got the rv delivered and I was setting it up when I noticed 11, yes 11, things that were wrong with it. Including a severe water leak which caused the underbelly to fall out. I called service a few times before I got to talk to someone and was told I couldn't get the rv in for almost A MONTH. Mind you we hadn't even had the thing for 3 days. After arguing my point of frustration with the service team about how a brand spanking new rv shouldn't have any of these issues, we got it in the shop and 2 days later they said they fixed everything and we got it back home. About a week later I noticed more water underneath and the air was acting up, so I emailed service quite upset and got nothing but a nasty response. So I called the manufacturer, was apologized to for camping worlds mistakes and got a mobile service to come look at the leak and the air unit. Those people were way more friendly and helpful in a matter of 2 days than camping world was for an entire month after spending $40k there.
If you own any type of rv, this is the go to place for all your needs. They also sell new and used rv s of all kinds and have a large service dept. Staff is helpful and easy to deal with.
Service staff is non existent when there is a problem. I have had my calls and messages ignored for three days now. I have left messages on the service managers line, and received NO calls back. POOR way to do business. No stars from here. It wouldn't let me post it without a star.
I've always loved going to Camping World but haven't been in awhile. It is reorganized and a little hard to find anything. Wandering around in circles around "islands" of over-priced stuff a lot of it now has nothing to do with camping or motorhomes dog toys and kitchen gadgets galore. We did manage to buy a few necessary items like chemical for the RV head but the bigger items, chairs for example, didn't look new or exciting.
I'm looking to purchase a new TT, upon entering I was greeted by Andrea. I explained my situation and budget she showed us few Trailers and was very thorough about each product. Highly recommend her.
I gust love to visit this Camping World. They have about everything you want for your R.V. and can provide installation, heck you can even buy an R.V. there. Right off the freeway and clean restrooms.
I had Camping world put a full set of tires on my RV a couple of years ago. I asked them to keep 1 tire that I had just replaced a few months earlier because it was new. I just found out they gave me the wrong tire (a old tire).. I had a blow out and have to replace a tire and now I have to buy a new tire because they gave me the wrong tire.
When I called them they were rude, put me on hold for 10 minutes and pass me around and around to talk to 3 employees until they said they could not do anything for me.
They screwed up and it is going to cost me over a 100 dollars.
Thanks Camping world for NOTHING!!!!!!!
They have lost my business for life.
Typical Camping World store. What they have here they pretty much have at every other Camping World. I'm not sure you'll find better pricing on ANYTHING over what you will pay elsewhere. That said, it's clean and well organized. The staff is always friendly, and that counts for a lot. We love looking around, but the prices and limited selection usually have us leaving with ideas of what to purchase elsewhere.
