The reason I gave them 4 stars is Location on the River & being next to Snook HavenI'm a Tent Camper and I Feel their Price to Camp is way too High! 12 months ago they raised their rates 50% All but $50 to tent Camp per Night?

I had a great time! Harry was very very helpful! Everytime I called I spoke to Harry, he answered all of my questions. Check in with quick and easy. We had two adults and two kids in our group. Everyone had fun! The beach is near campsite. We rented a canoe, the river is beautiful. We will definitely return.

Love this campground. Right next to Snook Haven with great food and great music on the weekends and Thursday Banjos. Caught tilapia! Yes, it is a quiet campground, so don't go there if you want to be rowdy or have kids that are rowdy. :)

Camp ground apparently doesn't allow families of 4 or more. when I asked the man on the phone about our family of 6 he was rude in he's response as he already told me 4 people only as if i was ignorant and didn't hear him the first time. He gave no suggestions, nor seemed interested in helping to figure out a solution to keeping business. I've noticed on further research that that are more expensive and not nearly as many amenities and fun things for the kids to do as myakka river state park AND myakka is cheaper and more accommodating. We are happy with our booking at Myakka now and is only a short distance away.

I agree with many others who say this is not a family campground. 95% of the campers are 55+ and do not seem to want weekend campers. Management and campers were very set in their ways and complained about minor things. The campground is beautiful though, we had a site right on the water and were able to fish all weekend. My advice to the owners is to be more patient with younger campers/families or make this a 55 and older community.
