Stay away from this shady company, they purposely make it hard to cancel under their poor conditions. (freezing cold, dirty, noisy (foot stomping) every morning). They will charge you for every little thing. Bad customer service, but great service when you need to book.

Four years have passed since I worked for the owner, and I'm happy to say that the negative reviews about the owner's temperament are correct. When I worked for him, he was just as rude and awful as he seems to be now. He would ask me to charge people's cards as quickly as I could for the smallest things, he would push me to evict people and charge them for anything I could, and it took me weeks to finally get the nearly $1000 he owed me once I stopped working for him.
The man is unpleasant, he doesn't trust people, and he wants everyone to follow a narrow set of rules that he thinks is right. Oh. And he'll throw you off the property for almost no reason. And call the police. And he always watches you through each of the cameras he has poised around the property. The cameras literally stream to his phone, and he'll watch you just because.
Trust me. I worked for the man. Stay literally anywhere else.response / report this review -

I had an interesting experience here. The good stuff: It's in a great location. Very close to downtown SLC and about a mile from a supermarket and right next to the light rail. The bed was very comfortable, and a towel was provided. The hostel was nice and quiet! :) there appeared to be enough bathrooms for the number of people at the hostel.
Read the fine print! When I made a reservation, I got an email about sending a photo of my invoice and ID ahead of time. I've never done this at any other hostel. Many independent hostels do have their own rules and ways of doing things, so if this works for them, that's fine, but it's odd and led to a misunderstanding between me and the guy on the phone.
I'm not sure if there was any staff on site. There may have been, but no one was an obviously a staff person, which could present problems for visitors. The dorm bed cost just over $25. Maybe I'm quibbling, but this seems high. I don't know what the cost of living in SLC is, but generally I expect to pay between $15 to $20 for a dorm bed in a city that isn't New York City or San Francisco.
The hostel has a bit of an institution feel to it, with signs everywhere and not much decor. Which is also fine. 3 out of 5 stars.response / report this review -

If you're looking for a cheap place to stay downtown, this is a deal for you! While not the cleanest place I've been (like others have mentioned the beds we're a little gross) it was a nice stay, perfect for my purpose and cheap too. The other guests were fine, never had a problem, though I never saw the staff, but I was also coming late and leaving early.
Anyway, it was a good experience, just follow the directions they send you to make it a smooth experience.response / report this review -

I came to Salt Lake and wasn't planning to stay for the night but I ended up needing to. So I needed to find a place to stay. I had no idea where this place was. When I got into my room the room was hot and I couldn't sleep because of the heat but I did fall as sleep as it got cooler later in the night. When I wanted to book another night, and there was no availability they still charged me a fee for just applying to the room. The room was available on the website and after I tried to book it the guy messaged me and said that it was taken. He said that I hadn't been charged anything but when I checked my bank account, I saw that there was a charge on my account from them, and he told me that the fee was nonrefundable for using their software

After an initial problem with my booking, I finally arrived at the hostel at 12am. The floor was strewn with hairs, including pubic hairs but I vowed to keep my shoes on and just ask for the room to be swept in the morning. As I pulled back the sheets I noticed that they were covered in yellowed stains and other marks. I didn't feel comfortable sleeping on them and contacted the owner to ask if there were any other sheets. He told me I could take another room (after previously telling me my room was the only one available). In the second room I noted that there â€was a significant build up of dust and hair in the 12inch gap between the bed and the wall. I messaged the owner and told him that I would like to speak to him the next day about a partial refund. He then called me and began shouting at me to get out of the property and that he would give me a full refund, but that I was now trespassing and he was on his way to throw me out. This was now 1.30am and he threw me, a young foreign woman, out onto the street in a city that I had never visited before.
This hostel is not at an acceptable cleanliness level and the owner is heartless, with no concern for anyone but himself.
He should be ashamed of himself and if safety is a concern for you, do not stay here.response / report this review -

Terrible experience, booked online and when I arrived I was asked to leave the property as it was 2130 hrs, yet the booking system had confirmed my booking. The process to get a room is difficult and confusing, the owner Arthur was rude on the phone and very arrogant. Worst run accommodation in Salt Lake City. Just stand outside and look how many security cameras there are, as a woman I wouldn't feel safe here, as I bet there are some where they shouldn't be. Drug deals were going on across the street, in hindsight I was glad not to be there.

A very rude, arrogant and spoiled owner (Arthur) and his rude housekeepers that wont hesitate to nickel and dime you for not following their rules or throw you out. Dont stay there its not safe area homeless always try to get in hide in the shower rooms. They have cameras everywhere the owner creepily watches people on them but he refuses to get involved if theres a real problem captured on camera. He wont lift a finger if theres an issue in the rooms, instead has his old father do the heavy lifting or any real work involved which is painful to watch with his broken English. Theres no one there to help you if theres a problem checking in. You wait there until theyre good and ready to reply back it could be 5 minutes it could be an hour who knows. Their website clearly states theyre available 24 hrs on call for emergencies but the truth is he doesnt like to be woken up and will block your number. Hows all that for peace of mind. Go with AirBnB not this sketchy place.

It served its purpose. It's nothing fancy, but they had plenty of useful amenities: hot shower (towel included), full kitchen, free wifi!
