Very beautiful! Lots of activities. Stayed at the Mountain Creek Inn. Rooms were spacious and cabin-like with nice views of the surrounding area. No breakfast served near the rooms though so you have to plan ahead for that.

2 stars for the "pet friendly room" we stayed in - in dire need of refurbishment. The place is showing it's age. I'm sure there are nicer rooms there and I hear the villa/detached suites are nice. Did not eat here so I can't review the restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is friendly. Free coffee in lobby was good. I will give them another chance, but only if pet friendly rooms are upgraded.

The lodge was very nice. The rooms were spacious. I liked the separate tub and shower and I like that you can charge your phone using the lamps. There was no single size complimentary shower gel. The shower gel and shampoo were nailed to the shower wall. The food was good. The location was not near an interstate but it was quiet and peaceful.

I greatly enjoyed being here. We bring in a lot of our food, because the local grocery store is quite pricey. But there are also some nice and reasonable places to eat out.
Once there, we can swim, play tennis, or ride bikes together. And lots of trails for hiking, but only when the weather is good.response / report this review -

If you like a controlled outdoors experience, this is for you. Very good trails and bike paths. One hotel is OK to bring a dog to, but any indoor activity is off limits to them.
Service was good. Restaurants were not that good quality, but there is little very close. We did a combination of picnic lunches with food we brought and eating off-site.response / report this review -

I visited here with my family yesterday for the 4th of July since it's only about an hour and a half from Atlanta. With taxes, ended up paying $98 for 3 adults to attend the special holiday 'event'. I thought the price covered certain activities, however once we got inside of the beach, all of the activities costs extra.
The beach grounds were maintained and I did enjoy the live band performancesThe color of the water also left me with a bit of skepticism though.
The best part was the fireworks show at the end of the night. It lasted from 930-945. For $30 a per adult, I did expect a longer show, but overall It really was an amazing show.
Took 47 minutes to exit the parking lot after the show because of the dazed workers pretending to direct traffic.
Overall, I think I will make the extra 2 hour drive to Hilton Head unless I am just last minute planning again..response / report this review -

I went there for a one day trip, didn't stay overnight. They had rather high entry prices because of a July 4th weekend. Their butterfly garden is rather impressive, and I wish I had taken my camera along for a few cool shots. Besides that, there were a few shows put on by performers, all of whom had great talent. There were a few nice nature trails and such, and we got to feed fish (bring your own quarter for the food at these vending machine like things). Alone, the whole place might be boring, but with a few friends and a picnic planned it's just fine. The primary restrooms at the visiting center are just fine, but I did go to a far more poorly maintained one at the edge of the park.

Grounds were well kept. Food was Overpriced. If we didn't have the free admission with our hotel stay it would not be worth it. The hotel was awesome. Staff was great m rooms clean.beds comfy. Pool was relaxing.

We participate in the Summer Family Adventure every year. It's a great time for all. The grounds could use some investment. The vegetable garden and the Sibley Center have closed and I'm not sure they plan to reopen and no replacement. The circus, the lake, the other gardens, the Disovery Center, and the Villas are all fabulous. The kids love it, too.

We came here for a wedding weekend and stayed in the cabins. It was a beautiful location and the cabins were perfect to keep everyone in our group together. We spent the weekend visiting the gardens and it was so well maintained. The events for Easter weekend was fun for the kids. The wedding took place at the Chapel, and it was such a gorgeous back drop. The food at the lodge for the reception was delicious and the service in the restaurant was spectacular!
