Love going here. They are always nice. Will let you sample a piece of cake. Cake slices are huge or a very nice size. Different varieties of desserts and are reasonably priced. Love the cupcakes, brownies and cheesecakes! Yum!

Great black owned bakery on the south side of Chicago. They will work with you to get a special order paid for. I will definitely use them again next time I visit the Chi.

The Most delicious caramel cake in the world!! The owner is super nice and always willing to answer questions. They also have amazing cheesecake and coconut cake!!! Just take my money, so worth it!!!

Plain cheesecake was terrible!!! So dry , it taste and look like corn bread. Banana pudding was okay. No where near worth talking good about. Would not recommend or come here again. I've had better cheesecake from a fast food restaurant!!!

My children and I were participants in the 32nd Annual Hunger Walk here in Chicago and to get them through the walk I promised to reward them with a visit to Brown Sugar Bakery. The first thing a really appreciated was the bakery opened immediately when the owner came in to work which was about 8 minutes before the scheduled time to open. That made me feel like the owner cared more about making it convenient for the customers rather than the clock. We received very warm greetings from the 2 young ladies behind the counter as well as the owner. The cashier that waited on us was very helpful as well as very knowledgeable of the different cakes. Going into detail about each cake we asked about as well as the sales . It was 1 adult and 4 children in my party and she never seemed bothered about answering questions or swapping out items or allowing us extra time to decide. What really stole my heart was after we made our selections I looked over to my left and there was the owner assisting my baby girl at a separate little counter which displayed prepackaged deserts. My daughter is the star of asking many questions but the owner took special care of one of her many young customers and I loved that which made me spend more than I intended but the customer experience was priceless. This was not our first and we will continue to visit this location

Awesome this is the 7th year that I have been ordering from her for my special events. She did a spectacular job for my daughter's baby shower 6years ago,now the baby is 6years old and today I picked up her 6th Birthday cake!! Stephanie is the Best!!!

Absolutely delicious. We went 4th of July weekend it was very busy. Have never been here before caramel cake was absolutely delicious, also had turtle cheesecake, and German chocolate cupcake. These desserts remind you of your grandmother's desserts. Everything was moist, fresh, highly satisfied.

I give this bakery a well deserved 5 star rating. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the line had 10 people ahead of me. Which was good because I needed time to nail down my decision on what I wanted. The customer service was great and the line moved quickly. I got 4 slices of Carmel cake, 1 slice of strawberry and the sixth slice was free. 1 red velvet cupcake and 1 lemon cupcake. I was shocked by the affordable pricing. When I got home I passed out the slices to everyone and we all agreed. The cake is light and fluffy. What surprised me even more was the lightness of the icing. It wasn't thick and heavy like most Carmel cakes are. I'd recommend this place to any cake lover in the state of Illinois. I wish this business the best!

It's always hard to decide when you're looking a display case FULL of scrumptious dessert! The caramel parfait is to die for & this is cupcake heaven. The towering 4- layer cakes are the best ever! If you have a sweet tooth, you need to be here yesterday!!
