I work with Kuumba Lynx and they allow us to do youth programming there once a week. This is an AMAZING space, but like most Hyde Park venues parking is horrible.

It's a relatively small museum / art center, but it's nice! It's certainly worth a visit if you're in the area, and the attached cafe makes a good cup of coffee. If you're just looking to browse some art, I might not go out of my way from a faraway neighborhood, but they also offer classes/activities that I haven't yet looked into.

Take nice art classes in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood. Great place for local art and grab a bite at the adjacent Bridgeport Cafe.

The Hyde Park Art Center has an industrial design an features tons of unique art and creative arts classes. I took a knitting class there and while knitting isn't my forte, it turned out to be a great way to meet people in the area. It also has a cafe (Bridgeport Cafe) that is sort of overpriced in food, but their donuts are good.
