I wish I could live at Bluestockings. It's an incredible, accessible, radical space full of great books and even greater humans.

I used to volunteer here and I love this bookstore but sadly the staff aren't the best. The collective members Lou and Ashley are very negative people and indulge in gossip about others in the store and think that only their points are valid when there are many people of different backgrounds volunteering at the store. Just because you're transgender doesn't mean your voice is more valid than a woman of color.

Great bookstore with a wide range of books. My only complaint would be that none of the books have price tags! Going around checking the books is fun, but knowing how much they actually cost can go a long way.

Great atmosphere, awesome selection of new and used feminist books. And much more. Go and join one of their many activities or simply walk in and browse their extensive collection.

I'll always love this little bookshop. Make sure you leave enough time to wander around and check out some cool books that the chains and big box stores won't have. Also check out their events calendar and clubs (like book clubs and a knitting circle) - always a good conversation. I met some of my best friends through Bluestockings.

An amazing resource for the community and a haven for people of all kinds, I love this bookstore. I was trying to stop by while catching a flight out of NYC but they were not open at 11:15. I know it's queer standard time and I wouldn't have minded to wait longer but I had to get going. Maybe next time, I guess.

One of the most vibrant little hubs of activism and radical learning in NYC. If you are new to the city, or are just discovering your socially progressive self, make this your first stop.

Truly an awesome bookstore. Has a variety of books that can't been found anywhere else in New York, at least that I know of. The people are super friendly, and the volunteers are so nice. I can't wait to go back.
