It's simply amazing. This is the type of restaurant that would have a Michelin three star rating. It's incredible that it is in a very small town like Manistee. The food is the best I've ever had at a restaurant. You would expect to find a place like this in Chicago or New York.
This restaurant has a lot going for it- location, good food, nice drink selection, plenty of seating, and room for special events. The staff is very attentive as well. We always have a great dining experience here.
We were on a quick visit to the area (with our canine companion). Asked several of the business employees for a dining recommendation. Bluefish was #1. I went in to ask if they allowed dogs on the patio, they did. The hostess was wonderful, seating us quickly, after this, the service was horrible. We waited about 10 minutes before a waitress came to take our drink order. When she brought the drinks, we were asked if we were ready to order. We had not been given menus. The table across from us then handed us theirs. The waitress just laughed and walked away.
We ordered entrees and I ordered an appetizer, which was brought to us fairly quickly. Then we waited for our dinnerand waitedand waited. There were people seated well after us who were receiving their entrees already. The waitress came to the table a couple times, commenting they were really busy inside and shouldn't be much longer. It was starting to get dark and chilly, we didn't expect to be there after it got dark. After well over an hour of excuses and waiting, my boyfriend went inside to find our waitress and asked to speak with the manager and asked to have our dinners put in to go containers. He (the manager) came out saying it takes a long time to prepare and saute the whitefish (What? It was blackened whitefish, a simple prep, or so I thought) then apologized, saying he would compensate us for having to wait so long. The waitress came out after him with our food and bill, very rude and with an attitude because we complained about how long it was taking. We paid cash so we wouldn't have to wait any longer.
We did eat the food for lunch the next day and it was very good. Too bad the service was so bad. We will not go back.
Nice. Blueberry salad was tasty. Chef was happy to swap fish for the shrimp in my jambalaya. Fish was fresh and perfect. Jambalaya was not like that of tradition Cajun cuisine, but I am not sure most of us Michiganders would appreciate the heavy spice. It was a nice dish overall. Had the blueberry bread pudding for desert. YUM! Friendly staff and clean facilities. Patio overlooking the river was peaceful and just perfect on this evening. Nice experience over all!
Blue Fish restaurant was amazingly great!! It was dog-friendly we got to sit on their patio and they even brought her dog a bowl of water great restaurant dog friendly on the patio
We stopped in here looking for a potential wedding venue and we were absolutely blown away. The location is beautiful, as is the building inside and out. Our server Maria was so sweet and friendly and the manager Derek was very helpful. The food was excellent and cooked perfectly with great portion sizes. The atmosphere, music, and decor was all very well done. We loved it so much, we decided to have our wedding reception here! Can't wait to come back.
The food, the service and the environment was attractive.
The food was well prepared and the flavors in my dish was well balanced.
We will come by again.
Thank you.
We had a great lunch, blueberry vinaigrette salad with blue cheese and tomato bisque, warm bread with garlic herb butter. The service was great too and the building is just beautiful. We look forward to trying other dishes on the menu.
Great food, great service. Prime rib was enough to feed 2 people. Husband's salmon was under cooked. Our server offered to resubmit a new order, change the order, return current order and cook it as he ordered it or any way he wanted it. I like that she didn't have to involve or ask permission from a manager. Salmon was grilled, turned out delicious, and she discounted the price. We were enjoying the view and the wine, so it all worked out well!
